What special features are on the supplemental disc? Does it have the trailers and deleted scenes? I know either way I'm sending the discs, but I was just curious to see what specials are on the supplemental disc. Thanks

It has all the supplements that were contained in the Definitive Edition laserdisc set. There have never been deleted scenes available on VHS or laserdisc. It does contain the trailers.

DVD Set is gonna kick major tail. i purchased a set off of the same seller a while back and he assured me they were the same transfers (which in my opinion were absolutely flawless) of the films themselves the only difference (and in my opinion A MAJOR difference) is the packaging, now in a pretty cool 4 dvd case, and the inclusion of the "ultimate" bonus dvd that inclusdes the hour long Making Of documentary (which after talking to the seller he made me aware it is the FROM STAR WARS TO JEDI feature!) anyways, sorry for ramblin, im gonna sit by the mailbox and wait!

later guys

Exactly what I'm talking about. Making money off of the fans.

Though if I may be so bold as to say it, if you're stupid enough to pay $50 for packaging (ugly packaging at that...who wants them all in one case???), good luck to you.

like i said its amazing to complain about quality bootlegs sold at a decent price when there are people willing to pay that much for something that isn't all that great. Maybe I need to start putting together a new set and charge limbs for it...obviously there is a demand and will be more in the future...oh well.

unless there has been some major coup in the past few months, the best bootleg you can get is sourced off of laserdisc. I think lucasfilm keeps the print under tight lock. Hell, GL said that the OT doesn't even exist anymore, which is altogether possible, he might have printed the CGI crap directly onto the originals.

Is there a way to copy the files on the laserdisc directly onto the harddrive? I would like to know if there is hardware that could achieve this (or if it can be built, theoretically). I was thinking on something along the lines of a LD player rigged into some sort of "LD-Drive" that you can hook up directly to the IDE port.

If that was possible I could back up my LDs with the highest quality (i.e. losless). *starts dreaming*

It's impossible.

Laserdisc is an analog format.

OMG the torrents are down again on suprnova. They were there yesterday.

Just keep checking.

The only possible way would be like capturing VHS to a computer, digitalizing it.

Anyone ever heard of an alternate ending to ROTJ?

Ive seen this dvd on ebay UK called Star Wars: the untold story

It says you get a workprint of an alternate ending to ROTJ, the auditions and 52 mins of deleted scenes.

I don't think so. However, I have seen some LD Players that have some type of serial port on the back. Many of you may already know about this website already, but I figured it may come in handy. It is the most definitive archive of LD Player information that I have seen. It is here: LaserDisc UK Website

Something that got me thinking was the description of how some of the dual-deck VCRs (like the go-video decks) are able to make such higher-quality copies. The machine directly copies the FM signal on the tape, rather than converting to RF, or composite, or whatever and then converting back again. The results really are significantly better than anything else I've seen. Maybe something like that could be done with laserdiscs, too. If there were some way to digitize the signal as soon as possible in the path from laser to screen, maybe you could capture the maximum, definitive quality stored on the disc.

It would take someone smarter than me to do this, however.

Hi All.

Great site and forums you have here.

Have 'ordered' the SW preSE OT DVDs (a mouthful) earlier today from 'digitalfreaknyc'.

Eagerly looking forward to watching them.

I'm wondering if it would be possible to modify an LD Player by installing component RGB outputs and installing component RGB inputs on a capturing device. I love my ADVC-100 (capture device), but it only has S-Video and Composite inputs and outputs. There are probably some capturing devices that have RGB inputs, but I imagine that they are quite expensive. The ADVC-100 alone was nearly $300.00 US. I believe it can be bought for around $250.00 now or maybe a little less.

Now as far as component RGB goes, I believe that is digital. Not sure. If it is digital, you could capture digitally from the LD Player. LD's are analog, but at least you could have a digital stream coming from the LD Player and into your PC. A lot of this is theory on my part though. I just wish I had the money to try it out.

laserdisc should be digital. Hell, they're just really really big cds. they probably use a primitive version of MPEG and so on.

ok, I found a source

doesn't quite make sense to me (I have no engineering training) but it looks like it's similar to SACD

Thanks for replying digitalfreaknyc. I've sent out the blanks with correct return postage for all 5 discs. I cannot wait to get this, you have truely made me a happy little boy. What you're doing is the mark of a true fan, not some greedy little bastard. And as far as the deleted scenes go, the auction f13fan posted says that there are deleted scenes included, which may or may not be true. I could care less about the deleted scenes though, I want the original trilogy!

ps. f13fan, if you could post what the deleted scenes are like when you get your set, that would be cool.

The offer is now closed.

I don't know how many of you have sent in your discs but now I'm getting threats saying I'm going to be arrested and sued for what I'm doing.

I never meant any harm and never meant to take advantage of anyone. Good luck with the torrents and I guess TK47 is back in business.

I will fulfill any requests that people have sent me but no more.

That really sucks. If those who threatened you ever ask why you could tell them in so many words what Lucas is and that he said those versions no longer exist. I would love to see so many high quality bootlegs get into people hands before Sept. and cripple the sales of that Official SE only DVD crap. I know that won't happen, but if it did, maybe then Lucas will get the idea people do not care for his revisionist filmmaking being the only thing people can see on DVD.

digitalfreaknyc -

That's a great service you were offering and puts the skanks who make a load of £££'s on ebay for inferior dodgy discs to shame.

They should be the ones threatened with lawsuits and all.
