I know we've seen him, he just seems the most underused of all the models.

ah, K. Didn't realised you meant it like that. Didn't mean to talk down to you or anything...

It's cool.

Anyway, what's the deal with the podcast commentaries this season? I used to listen to them when I got antsy waiting for the next episode, but so far nothing this time. RDM hasn't given up on them, has he?

I wouldn't know, I only just started listening. He seems to get easily distracted and just start talking about random unrelated things.

Re: simon - I guess they just keep him/them around for fodder then.

Do the 7 really have specific roles? I mean we do see them maquerading as Doctors, engineers, clergymen etc... But on their own turf they all just sit around talking all day.
The raiders and centurions have specific roles, but what of the skin jobs? If they serve no vital purpose then wouldn't that render them obsolete?

Wow - what a shitty place to end this week's episode. I seem to be in the minority though, as I'm loving this season so far - 100% serialized, no pointless standalone episodes, truly one story spread over a season - it's what BSG should have been the whole way through, not random B.S. like "Black Market" and "Dirty Hands."

Although it is only episode 4 of the season. I may be jumping the gun a bit.

Is it just me or is the mood of season 4 incredibly depressing?
Fez: I am so excited about Star Whores.
Hyde: Fezzy, man, it's Star Wars.

I'm a bit worried that since they are sure it's the last season they are doing things plotwise they wouldn't otherwise. Things that would have cosequences later.

The storyline IS becoming increasingly depressing.

Oh... it's the final season? Didn't know that.

Was it just me, or did that last episode of BSG "The Road Less Traveled" just feel like nothing more then a poor filler episode? I'm sorry, but I just did not think it was a very good episode at all. The story has seemed to slow down to a crawl now. All the main plot points of that episode could have been told within 5 min. I give that episode 1 out of 5 stars. With the small amount of episodes left till end game, I seem to want and expect much better.

aye - enjoyed the first 3 episodes of this season - but the last one was poor filler (well acted etc - but just filler) - I hope there IS some payoff for it - and will continue to watch all the remaining episodes for when it does pick up - but strewth, I found it very difficult to stay focused on the the last episode.

Doh!

My problem with the last episode was that I felt like they'd showed EVERYTHING in the previews for it, which sucks quite a bit.

I think they should have stuck with 13-episode seasons, like the first. Five 13-episode seasons would probably have been more consistent than one 13 and three 20-episode ones. Eight less episodes total, but that's about how many bad/subpar ones there have been throughout the run of the show IMO.

so they should write and produce 20 episodes and then only screen the better 13 of them?

I hate how they show what's coming up at the end of the opening, i usually close my eyes or look away for those few seconds. Generally you forget about it shortly afterwards, But I just prefer not to see that 'preview' at all.

I guess shorter seasons would be ideal tho, with reasonable gaps between - less than 8 months imo.

Not write and produce 20 but air 13, produce 13-episode seasons from the start a la Sopranos or other cable TV shows - season one had no real "filler" episodes, and only one episode I didn't like (six degrees). Two had about four bad ones, three had about six or seven. This season's much better so far, but there are still too many filler episodes like last week's.
Author

Well the story is picking up now tbut they are really milking these cliff hanger endings. I guess i should give up hope for a nice episode resolution each week.

oh well, at least it should be interesting to see 3 [D'ana] again.

It seems to me that BSG has just lost it.
Shame...It was until the second half of season 3, the best show on tv...along with Lost...which is still the nuts!

Yeah, I'm not feeling Battlestar this Season. Lost is the nuts though - I'm only on episode 9 of season 4 but it has been quality (a few dodgy episodes but whatever).

So i finally got to see the bootleg trailer of richard hatch's galactica secong coming, the effects were very good for a fan film.

too bad the trailer is a cam video in very bad quality with someone infront of the persons seat and the video is not even centered on the screen properly.

Still i like Hatch's comics and novels and this reboot would have been interesting as a theatrical feature.

I love the original galactica with dirk benedict's womanizing starbuck who gambles, gets drunk and also chomps on a cigar.

although maybe a bit too much like his alter ego on the a-team.

Hatch was in Walter Koenig's film Inalienable.

HOW MUCH YOU WNT TO BET THAT THE FIFTH CYLON IS RICHARD HATCH?
Nah, it's gotta be Baltar. Or it's a big Red Herring - like the final cylon is something within all humans, or some shit like that that will make us all groan.

Nope, you've all got it wrong - it's gonna be that woman with the scar on her face that was one of the judges at Baltar's trial, obviously! I mean, come on, people!
