BSG — Page 23

Any one hear any news on season 4? Are we getting any episodes this year or do we have to wait till 2009? I know I should just look it up myself, but just feeling too lazy too, and it seems that anytime I look up anything about the writer's strike it becomes hard to find up to date and accurate info.

Really? Last I heard production had stopped. Any idea how many episodes?

EDIT:

From the all knowing, ever accurate, ultimately scholarly wikipedia,

"Moore acknowledged that due to the 2007 Writers Guild of America strike, the series might not be completed. Production was suspended on Nov. 16, 2007, all personnel have been laid off, and only 13 of the 22 episodes have been completed (including 2 episodes comprising "Razor"). Completion of the season is not a certainty."

So eleven more episodes, and not likely to be anymore until 2009 or maybe never (though that blog seemed like Moore was being a bit over dramatic, BSG is pretty popular and a pretty big cash horse to be shot so quickly. I am pretty sure once the strikes are over that nobody is going to say, "Ah, let's just forget about BSG and call it good shall we?" There'll be high demand for the last eps and plenty of money around to ensure that they get done.

Well, Sci-Fi was planning on showing the first 10 in 2008 and the last 10 in 2009 even before the writer's strike. Now it seems that's assured - as long as the writer's strike is over with this year anyway (and it better be).

We'll get the whole 4th season, don't worry. It'll just take a bit.

Wow, maybe I shouldn't get up to speed as quickly as I'd planned then. I've just reached the end of season 1 on DVD [kobol's last gleaming] - Although I have seen 'Razor' so I have an idea of what is to come...

Thanks oojason, that video was hilarious. Watched it twice and cracked up throughout both times.

Not long now until we get our next batch of BSG...

10 Episodes. Last I heard they were going to begin airing in March. As far as I know there is no news on the second half yet. This is suppose to be the final season, and the order was for 20 episodes. It is possible that the remaining ten will be filmed and aired in either the Fall of this year (very unlikely) or sometime in 2009.

April 4 is the season premiere on SciFi in America. 11 episodes were shot before the writer's strike, with a midseason break intended between 10 and 11. Since they don't have the last 9 shot, they're most likely going to show the first 10 episodes April-June, then the final 10 either this winter or early 2009 (my bet's on 2009).

And yes, they advertise it as beginning March 28 (or thereabouts), but that's just a recap episode a la "The Story So Far" and all Lost's recap episodes.

Thanks for the clarification. I look around briefly but wasn't able to find an official start date. Now I know April 4th is the day to look forward to for more BSG. This will be the first time in my Galactica viewing experience of having to wait a week between episodes, I started watching the show on DVD last year and have just recently finished watching season three.

Not as good as the video oojason linked to, but here is some more Cylon humor.

Whatever happened to the term "felgercarb" anyway? I know it was a pretty lame made us curse word, but I would really like to hear it used just once in the new BSG series, just for old times sake...

Man, only 10 episodes and then wait for another year? That sucks.

War does not make one great.

I've just gotten to the end of season 2 and I have to say the last episode really threw me, I don't know what to think about it, the jump in time feels really wierd, Suddenly everything is different and I feel like I've missed something major.

I may just watch season 3 at a slow leisurely pace if season 4 will indeed be split and/ or scattered. Help ease the long wait.

Is season 4 the last?

oh and cheers for the link C3PX, That was great...

Yeah, that year jump forward was a little disorienting at first. Don't worry, you get quite a few flashbacks to fill in what has happened over that period. I liked the jump forward actually. It seemed like it was going to be a bit of a show changer, but it turned out it was not. I was afraid the pace of the show would really be hurt by the change from ship to planet, but as it turns out the planet stuff was probably the more exciting parts of the season. I was at a point where I was watching episode after episode, but the pacing gets so slow further on in the season I stopped caring and got to a point where I would watch an episode only every couple of weeks. I hope season four picks back up. I really liked season one, season two was pretty good, but season three was downright painful sometimes.

Yes, season four is the end. There is talk of a spin off prequel series, it was brought up a long time ago and put on the "shelf" where it was seemingly forgotten, but some rumors have recently surfaced that it is being considered again.

The 4th season will start on April 4th - though the US fans will be able to watch the show a little earlier on the scifi website (streams).

Also, Caprica has given the ok for a pilot show.

So the final Cylon is Bob Dylan then?

Looks like we're in the same boat C3PX, I just finished season 3 myself and it's going to be different experiencing the show only 1 episode at a time. Cliff hangers are going to sting.

I could not stop laughing at Lee "Fatass" Adama, but how'd he lose it all after a few hours in the Gym? seemed a tad unrealistic.

It was a tv reset button that did it. The tv reset button is a device in tv land where it can cure litterally anything. From a time travel experiment gone wrong, to weight loosing faster then it should. Anything wrong? Tv reset button can fix it!

Intense season opener - best opening teaser I've seen the entire series.

It's definitely ramping up to the end here. I'm just worried 20 episodes might drag things out too much and they should have stuck with 13 a la season 1, but I have faith in RDM.

I'M GOING TO HAVE TO DISAGREE. THOUGH THE EPISODE WAS GOOD IT WAS FAR FROM GREAT. A COUPLE OF NEW STORY ELEMENTS WERE INTRODUCED WHICH COULD BE BOTH GOOD AND BACK CONSIDERING THIS IS THE SEASON TO WRAP THINGS UP.

FROM INTERVIEWS WE KNOW THAT STARBUCK IS NOT A CYLON. THAT IS THE ONE PROTECTED CHARACTER ON THE SHOW MUCH LIKE LUKE SKYWALKER IS TO THE EU. HOWEVER, SHE COULD BE SOMETHING ELSE ENTIRELY. ANYBODY REMEMBER THE GLOWING, SPIRIT-LIKE ALIENS FROM THE ORIGINAL SERIES?

I just thought of this and have brought it up before. Her arc is very similar to the War of the Gods arc from the original, where Starbuck's ship is overtaken by that crystalline ship of lights, and those fruity angelic type characters who had their faces covered. Also, Count Iblis was the bad guy telling them he'd take them to Earth.

KIRA IS A CLONE.

this season is going to be great i think, and also ALOT darker then any we have yet to see, the blood in battle and the effect of sol shooting adama, you can tell this is going to be intense. I almost thought that he had actually killed him for a second and that they were starting off with a HUGE twist. can you imagine. adama going down like that out of no where in the first damn episode.

WHo do you guys think is the last cyclon, originally i thought it was gayas cause it seemed like he heard the music too in the last ep of season 3, but after watching it again i think i was imagining it. and therefore my vote is for Roslin.
nice guys finish last

Kara is probably an Earthling double of herself, sent out on one of Earth's brand new Vipers and got her self lost, once she got close to the Galactica the memories of her alternative life kicked in and she forgot all about her life as an Earthling.

This episode was alright. I am expecting and hoping that this season will be a little better than season three. S3 started off promising enough, then it caved in on itself. By the end of it I was so sick of hearing endless discussion about the "final five" I just wanted to click the TV off every time it was mentioned. Since there are only what, 19? episodes left of the series, I am hoping they will make the majority of them count. The season premier was nothing spectacular, but it did not disappoint, it was entertaining and I enjoyed watching it, which is all I hope to get out of a TV show. I don't need huge twists and tons of action, just don't bore me.
