With tribes of humans... who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians... or the Toltecs... or the Mayans... that they may have been the architects of the Great Pyramids... or the lost civilizations of Lemuria... or Atlantis... Some believe that there may yet be brothers of man... who even now fight to survive... somewhere beyond the heavens." - as a kid I thought HE was the Imperious Leader the cylons were always on about...

I'm still playing - just. Tend to go through a few weeks of playing a lot of matches, and then lose interest in it if you fancy a game sometime let me know

There is something compelling about those opening lines from the old BSG...

A shame it seems that the Caprica project has stalled - maybe if it is the last season of BSG it may get picked up again as a continuing spin-off? Hopefully, anyway.

I'm off to look at the tv guide to see if there is anything worth watching on tv until 2008

Well in the UK we're up to episode "don't know the number but it's the one where the Chief and his missus were trapped in the hanger running out of air" and I've gotta say, so far, this season has been a major let down. With the exception of just a handful of episodes it’s been a pretty dull affair.
What has happened to the best show on TV? It's just so bloody boring at times.

Don't know how many episodes are left, but please tell me something good actually happens, and that there aren't another load of standalone, no cyclons, bloody boxing, bloody pointless flashback episodes to endure before the finale.

The last three episodes are fantastic, and the last one in particular is some of the best tv I've ever seen. You are right though, on balance this season bit the cheese. I knew we were in trouble when I saw the boxing episode.

OK, as apparently one of the few 'likers of the boxing episode' (far from best but I found it enjoyable) my challenge to everyone is this- watch the season again (when/if you can) back-to-back. I had recorded the whole season and not caught up until two weeks before the finale. Being able to watch ep after ep without the commercials always gives a different perspective to the flow of story. It helps not to have to wait whatever number of weeks between mid-season breaks and such. Taken in the context of what had happened up until then in the season and looking at what was to follow I thought the boxing ep was a decent way to bring everyone back into the main story while giving a 'breather' of sorts for some of the underlying drama that was brewing.

Just my 2 cents of course.

The boxing ep wasn't the only problem with the season as a whole. The first half was very good, but it seemed like the stuff that followed the Bx Ep was weak by the show's own standards. I'll be watching it again after I buy the seasons on iTunes. Want to get a monster external drive for that, though.

I heard that after this show is cancelled the new Flash Gordon series sci fi is prepping will take it's time spot.

supposedly sci fi thinks galactica's mature and hard edge themes is what made the ratings slide, i think they are morons myself.

they seem to think that a less serious series like Flash would be more welcomed with opened arms.

Flash Gordon has tons of fans built in Long before the awful 1980 film, Alex Raymonds superb comicbook and the buster crabbe serials are the real flash gordon as far as i'm concerned and i was born in 1978, lol

I will admit to as a kid likeing the strange cheasyness of the 1980 film because of the awesome queen score and the use of the music from the atari game vanguard.

not to mention a pre bond timothy dalton as prince baron.

The suits will never understand good sci fi, they cancelled such stellar outings as enterprise, stargate sg-1, galactica, firefly, farscape. morons who understand nothing but nielson ratings who don't even bother going to fan conventions or reading fan mail to see what a following these shows have and had.

To dumb down and completely ruin shows by turning them into complete drivel or t&a fests to compete with desperate houswives is lame. The average american viewer is a retard if they think shows like american idol and desperate houswives are better than shows like galactica.

WELL AT LEAST WE WILL HAVE A SEASON FOUR. I FOR ONE LOVED THE BOXING EPISODE. THAT EPISODE WAS ABOUT CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT AS HAS BEEN THE CASE WITH MOST OF THE SEASON. WE NEEDED THE FLASHBACKS TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED DURING THAT ONE YEAR GAP. THE WEBISODES ONLY GAVE US A SMALL TASTE.

Sci-fi TV shows seem destined to get canceled pre-maturely anymore. It is reasonable enough for them to cancel something because the rating are low, they have to make money. But I wonder why they have had so little success lately. SG-1, X-Files, and the previous Star Treks all had an extremely long run. Firefly was just treated unfairly to begin with. Farscape, which somebody mentioned was had a fairly long run too, didn't it? SG Atlantis is already doomed. Enterprise should have lasted longer, I think it was a mixture of being treated unfairly by UPN and how bad season three was with the whole "9/11" and "war on terror" (Xindi) plot line. That got old fast. BSG, I only recently started watching it and am really enjoying it. I am still only halfway through season one right now, but with how awesome the show is so far I cannot believe it is only getting 4 seasons. I thought it had been getting pretty good rating too. At least it didn't get cut off at only fourteen episodes like Firefly.

I started watching a week and a half ago and I'm at the beginning of season 3. I must say they keep it really interesting, it's not getting predictable. I miss the original music though. I loved that episode somewhere in season 2 (I think) when they play it at the end of the episode.

Did anyone ever noticed the Firefly spaceship in one of the first episodes of season 1? You can see it flying over the city from inside a building. I paused the picture and zoomed in. I would swear it was the Firefly.
Fez: I am so excited about Star Whores.
Hyde: Fezzy, man, it's Star Wars.

Yeah, I saw the Firefly too. I looked it up on line and it turns out it is because the same special effects company did the models for both shows. That was a pretty cool reference.

I was watching the first epiosde of the old Battlestar Galactica last night, it has been a long time since I have seen that show. In the very first episode you see Starbuck topless!!!

That old show isn't so bad. I remembered it being a lot cheesier than it seems now. But I am still on the first episode, or perhaps it is episode two... somewhere in the middle of the long made for TV movie that counts as the first three episodes, so there is still plenty of time for it to live up to expectations as far as cheese goes.

EDIT: ALRIGHT!! Finally, it took about half way through the movie/3 part pilot to live up to the cheese I remember it being.

The teaser for the coming BSG: Razor tv-movie:-

BSG: Razor

Apparently there is a 'sneak preview' for it on July 10 during something called 'Eureka' on Sc-Fi, whilst the actual Razor tv-movie will be aired sometime in November...

Am eagerly looking forward to the 4th and final season of BSG - such a long way off though

I am lucky I started watching the show late. I am still working my way through the first half of season two, I imagine by the time I make it to the end of season three it will be about time for season four to start airing.

Hmmm, no one got my topless Starbuck joke.

Hmmm...I haven't watched the show in ages (I stopped at "Unfinished Business"...it was so bad), but seeing that teaser piques my interest again. Of course, it probably won't compare to the awesomeness of season 1, but then again, what can?
