Whats the story with the Lucasfilm employee viewing the docos? How did you get to hear about that one? Thats slightly un-nerving.

Great work again, JD. I hope to hear how the L.A. employee viewing thing turns out.
I wish George would watch them and give his opinion. The L.A. employee could possibly pass it on to him, who knows?

I found the Easter Egg right away and actually watched it before the main feature and thought it was fantastic.

However, I have been a bit stupid and, having read another thread, I now realise that the Easter Egg was not an official release that I had never seen but was in fact another work of genius from Mr JD.

Absolutely stunning and worthy of the full DL download just to watch the Easter Egg. RTJ is pretty good too.............

If you could fit another 5 of these for Eps 1 to 5 into your busy jet set lifestyle, I for one would be most appreciative

I have a friend who is big in the toy collecting world and he met this particular Lucasfilm employee with regards to the organisation of 'Celebration Europe'. He is being visted by this Lucasfilm guy later this month (later that originally thought). He's told him about my projects and will be watching them with him soon.

Thanks Russs, I am glad you liked it all. I got a real kick out of making that trailer. I would love to make a living out of it. Sluggos competition just gave me an excuse to refine my editing technique. I will get there eventually. That reminds me, when are the results of the competition published? I had better take a look!

The toy collecting and the organizinng of celebration Europe kinda clues me into who this person is. He's a pretty good person and usually won't cause any problems as long as it's kept free. And if it who I think it is, he has a huge collection of Star Wars stuff. I've been to the house.
There's good in the Original Trilogy, and it's worth fighting for.

Actually I wasn't talking about our mutual friend Russs. Though I hear JB is very busy organising things for 'Celebration Europe' having visited the Toy Fair in London last week and met up with a certain official Lucasfilm employee.

The Lucasfilm employee I am talking about is Mr Sansweet as you've probably guessed. I just hope that Lucasfilm understand what these projects are about. They are about a genuine love and affection for the films and a totally respect for the people involved in making them, nothing else. They are not about making money or infriging anyone's rights. If the day ever came where I was asked to cease making such projects, I would do it in a flash. I recently read a French forum discussing my projects and whether they were piracy or not. One person suggested that it was no more harmful that someone producing a fanzine or fan website.

So it is indeed Steve. He's actually got quite a few fan edits himself. And if you see his Star Wars collection, his most prominent ones on display are OT. Although he has tons of everything.

Seeing as its a bit topical in another thread at the moment, can i ask where you got the music for your 'award winning' easter egg trailer, and for your original Returning To Jedi trailer?
Author
Time
The 'Returning to Jedi' trailer music is taken from the ROTJ soundtrack, I believe it's called 'Final Duel'.

The 'Award Winning Trailer!' music is a track that was developed from the film 'Requiem for a Dream'. Peter Jackson liked the score so much that he asked the original composer to make a more punchy version for his then upcoming 'Two Towers' trailer.

Hope that helps.

Thanks J. Gonna flick through my Returning to Jedi soundtrack now. Not sure where i'm going to find the music from a 'Requiem for a Dream' from though.

I am not on my home computer at the moment. So you could try to search for "Requiem for a Tower" by Clint Mansell. I think I've got the details right.

can anyone recommend a reasonably priced printer that lets you print on CD/DVD media?

Thanks

^ Hi Jambe

The Epson R300 series is a good quality photo printer - with added bonus of being able to print directly onto cd and dvd discs (easily too )

Quite cheap (about £80-100 for the latest R360 model - well worth having a look on ebay and the like.

I've had the 300 model for a couple of years - no complaints - great little printer

Thanks oojason, I will look into it.

Another favour: Has anyone got the facility to split 'Returning to Jedi' into 100MB parts for upload to youtube? I can't find an easy solution for mac. Thanks.

I promised myself I'd start going to bed before 2am, but finally getting all of Returning to Jedi made be break that rule. I had to see it. Gorgeous! The deleted scene reconstructions and placement of behind the scenes footage was fantastic. With my standard-size TV set, I could see some interview video creeping in at the very, very (VERY) top and bottom of the screen (just before the bit about the Emperor's painted-over makeup mistakes), but that was the only thing that I noticed as odd (It'll give you something to fix for the Deluxe Gold Triple Super Special Redundant Edition). I'd say this is on par with the previous volumes, and reminds me just how much I really love the original trilogy, especially this one, as it came out during the peak of my kid years (I was very little when the first two came out). Thank you so much for this, Jambe, as it really was worth the wait.

Thanks 'What.Cobbler?', I am glad you liked it. Yeah, I noticed that interview footage creeping in when I watched it on a friends TV the other night. What it's doing there I don't know.

Funny you should mention the 'Deluxe Gold Triple Super Special Redundant Edition' as I am working on it right now! I am correcting some of the text errors too, thanks to some eagle eyed members of the forum. However, this version will be just for me! Unless you begged of course

If you know of anything else that needs sorting, please let me know.

Neato! I like it a-lot. Hey what evil genius came up with 'Made by a fan for the fans' then?

The Epson R300 printer comes very highly recommended on DVD cover sites with guys that do a lot of making and printing custom covers. It also has the ability to be modded with a photoquality Continuous Ink System, this saves you a fortune on printing costs over time, softmodded, and you are able to remove the waste ink sponge to preserve its lifespan too. I should have got one with hindsight but i plumped for a HP photosmart instead

Happy to help! You may also want to standardize the title ID'ing each Lucas commentary-- sometimes it says "George Lucas - Creator" and other times "Creator - George Lucas". The former is preferable.
