Give us your mini-review of the game.

Personally, I think everyone who loves the OT should give it a shot, because wheras the first game was almost completely about the prequels, this game is fully centered about the OT. True, there's actually stuff from the SE and the prequels in there, but overall, it's nice to see the comedic take on all three films.

Also, note that the game is silent. No one talks except for mumbling and the alien languages. In fact, for Vader to tell Luke he's his father, he pulls out a picture of him and Padme to prove it!

The game's not very hard. Even though you can die in the game, you have unlimited lives! You just lose studs (money to buy extras) when you do die. The only hard part is that it's easy to get stuck in the game's many puzzles, but eventually you'll figure them out.

But the biggest suprise of all is the Ewok celebration at the end of the game. They actually use the Yub Nug song. As much as the game centers around the SE (Hayden Anakin is the ghost BTW), they use an element from the OOT in there. Probably because it was released in conjunction with the OOT on DVD. It even has a preview of it on the disc.

Also, you can create your own characters in the game to use in free play mode. You can even play as prequel characters in the OT! (Provided you have a save file for the first game on your memory card.)

Overall, this is a terrific and challenging game for kids and adults. It's not terribly frustrating and people have a chance to beat it. Everyone can forget about Super Star Wars now. This is the definitive OT game. (That is until Star Wars 2007 the game comes out...)

I picked this game up along with my copy of the O-OT and it does rock. I had the prequel one from before, but I didn't really play it too much.

I played this new one for a little bit, and suddenly I had this urge to beat the first game before I really dug into the sequel.

Both of these games are a lot of fun, and it is really nice to see the OT story in a new game after so long.

I love the Lego Star Wars games. I've only played this one at a freinds, but they're both great, and the original game was much funner than the real prequels. I think they're a great take on the whole Star Wars universe, and laugh out loud funny too.

I went out to get this for my gamecube at the weekend - only to find no shops stocking new gamecube games

This made me sad.

I want to be a kid again and play with lego

Anyone pick this up for Game Boy Advance? How does it compare to the more advanced gaming platforms?

Nice review, Ingo. Nice to see a thread about Lego Star Wars, and not just the usual OUT DVD discussions or why Lucas/the PT sucks.
Lego Star Wars was a great game, BTW, and am looking forward to getting this one sometime.

I have the PC version, and a tub full of the SW Lego that my kids and I enjoy.

It's a great game. They added more gaming options than the first game had ( the OT better than the PT? Who could have guessed?.....).

You can port a save over from the first game so you have another 50 chars to play with, has adaptive hardness you can switch on, can play special bounty hunter levels, timed runs of special levels where you try to collect 1 million studs, speed runs of all the levels for each movie together, special levels using the mini space ships, plus the mix and match option to make your own chars using the parts of other chars( i.e. red lightsaber gives a char sith powers). On top of the studs which the first game had, LSW2 has gold and red bricks to collect as well, which open other levels.

You can also play any of the cutscenes when you are back in the Cantina after you have opened them. I think there are about 60 of those when you are finished, some of which run for a couple of minutes by themselves.

Much to do.

I haven't played the DS or Advance versions of the game, but they are entirely different from the console versions. With the DS version employing a far less powerful 3D engine, and the Advance version using an isometric perspective to decent effect (from what people are saying).

But I did just recently get the PSP version and I have to say it is just about as good as the console versions. The only thing that really detracts from it is the loading time is actually noticeable between areas sometimes, but it's still not obnoxious or anything.

Since there was no Lego 1 for PSP, they have 3 doors in the "Jabba" room, one for each prequel, and they let you play the boss battles from the first game. Door one is Darth Maul, door two is DooKu, and door 3 is Darth Vader.

Also each level from the main portion of the game now has a new play option "challenge" mode where you have to find 10 blue minikits within a certain amount of time. Doing so will give you yet another brick and I think some of them unlock more characters from the prequels.

I almost played all the way through on X-Box (I have like 80% or something) but I am really enjoying playing it again on the go.

I want a PSP so darn badly...but they cost so darn much!!! I'd love to pick up games like this and lots of others and be able to play them on the go. Lots of PS2 console games also come out for the PSP, and I'm a handheld type of guy, so it would be a dream come true for me.

Myst, the ever popular PC game from the 90's, is hitting the PSP soon, and I might just have to pick one up for it. Myst on the go? Yes please. (Though DS would have been a better choice for Myst)

I could see myst being cool on the PSP. Have you ever played the real time 3D version on PC? It's like the way I always wished Myst was in the first place, where you could really just look anywhere and move freely.

realMyst is what the 3-D version was called, and I also thought it was really cool. I didn't like not having the point and click system though. They should have made it like Myst 3 and 4 and (I think) 5 where you have the point and click with full, 360 degree view. I don't really care about the graphics, they're both great and I although I prefer the realMyst graphics, the ones on the original Myst are still stunning for when the game came out. It's truly mind blowing they achieved that in 1994. Only problem with that version was your "picture frame" viewer, only seeing within the space of a picture frame. realMyst does fit better with the rest of the games, with the real time water and enviroments. I don't get why they aren't putting THAT version on the PSP, possibly even upgraded higher. I mean, I'm all for preserving old games and all that stuff, but Myst has had plenty of releases in its original form, and is very easy to find that way. Also, In this modern day and age, you're going to attract more teens with the realMyst graphics then you ever could with the original Myst. If teens played more games like Myst, this world would be a better place...
