A SPARK OF HOPE FOR LASERMAN

Author
Time
AS MANY OF YOU KNOW LASERMAN IS VERY ILL. HIS MEDICAL BILLS ARE ASTRONOMICAL. LAST YEAR WE HELPED A FRIEND IN NEED, AND NOW WE HAVE ANOTHER ONE. WE ARE ASKING FOR DONATIONS VIA PAYPAL TO SEND TO LASERMAN TO HELP HIM WITH HIS MEDICAL BILLS.

YodaIsYourFather HAS THE PAYPAL INFORMATION THAT HE WILL BE POSTING ON HERE. RIKTER AND COOV HAVE DONE SOME EXCLUSIVE DVD COVERS THAT HAVE BEEN PUT ON A DISC ALONG WITH EVERY CUSTOM DVD COVER THAT HAS BEEN POSTED HERE ON OT.COM. I HAVE ADDED A BONUS MUSIC CD THAT I CREATED TO THE DISC AS WELL. FOR THOSE WHO DONATE $10.00 OR MORE YOU WILL GET ONE OF THESE DISCS SENT TO YOU. ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN LOOKING FOR COVERS THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO GET THEM AND DO SOMETHING GREAT FOR A FELLOW OTer.

THIS IS SOMETHING THAT WE AS A COMMUNITY CAN DO TO GIVE LASERMAN A SPARK OF HOPE.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FROM PSYCHO_DAYV, RIKTER, YodaIsYourFather, COOV, ZION, KARYUDO, MOTH3R, AND JAY.

P.S.

WE ONLY HAVE UNTIL APRIL 30th TO COLLECT AS MUCH FOR LASERMAN AS WE CAN.
IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO SEND ME A PM OR EMAIL ME AT THEMANGLERBROSatgmail.com.

It's great to finally see this come about!

Special thanks to Dayv, Rikter, YodaIsYourFather, Coov, and everyone else for putting this together.

Laserman is one of OT's most beloved members. His contributions to the boards, especially the Preservation forums, have helped this place grow into what it is today. He has provided some of the best, most informative posts this board has ever seen. His expertise in the world of video production is second to none. If it weren't for people like Laserman, this would be a much different place. The X0 Project wouldn't even exist!

I hope everyone will join us in helping Laserman in this difficult time.

I'm so glad we're doing this again - and especially for Laserman. He was such a great contributor to these fora that I would always read the thread he posted in first. For those of you that didn't have the pleasure of being here when Laserman was, take some time to look back through some of the old threads and you'll soon see what an important community member he was here - and hopefully will be again. You don't have to know him to contribute, think of it as a contribution to the spirit of ot.com - which Laserman truly represents.

Bless you, Laserman. My best wishes in this tough time. You're still one of the best of us.

If I wasn't being thrown out of my apartment now (moneywise) myself, I'd contribute ....

EDIT: I've contributed anyway. LM needs it.

A rare weekend appearance by me, but there is a very good reason:
Please make all paypal donations to the following account:

mattfitch at hot mail dotcom

I will keep you all informed of how the collection is going in this thread, and on April 30th I will forward the grand total to Laserman.

As the Psycho one has mentioned, everyone who donates $10 or more will receive a DVD covers disc as well as a music CD (the contents of which I have no idea but I am looking forward to getting a copy).

Thanks in advance to everyone.

Those paypal details again are:

Suggestion: can there be a link to this thread pinned at the top of the other fora, like the IRC link.
(I know preservation and fan edits is the center of the universe, but there are members who never come in here).

Jay, can you put out an email to all the subscribers in the manner you did with the first Spark of Hope fundraiser? That was immensely effective in raising awareness.
I am fluent in over six million forms of procrastination.

Yes that's a better idea - that way you get all the people who might not read this before April 30th.

Firstly, I don't know laserman, although I've seen posts with his name on it. Secondly I really don't have much - I mean literally there are only a few bucks in my account, but something is telling me I should donate. So please would someone walk me through the process of donating through paypal including all the details? ( Because A. I've never really sent anyone money through paypal directly, B. because I just want to be sure I do it right)

I'm sure anything at all you can give will be greaty appreciated.

Here's what you do:

1. Log into your paypal account.
2. Click the 'send money' tab.
3. Type this email address in the 'recipient's email' box 'mattfitch at hot mail dotcom' (minus the apostrophes). Making sure you substitute the at for the @ sign and the dot for the '.' and link the words up as one.
4. Type in exactly how much money you can spare in the amount box.
5. Select 'Quasi-Cash from the category of purchase. (reduces Paypal's exhorbitant fees)
6. Wish Laserman good health and a speedy recovery in your message box.
7. Click continue, then confirm on the next page.
8. Remember Laserman in your prayers and consider yourself lucky to be amongst such a noble and caring community willing to look after one of it's own.
9 Thank Laserman for being the X0 Project catalyst.

Crikey, I selected one other than Quasi-Cash, because I thought it said there would be a charge...
