"TONIGHT'S EPISODE ROCKED, BUT NEXT WEEK'S IS GOING TO BE EVEN BETTER"

Something tells me the hand holding the gun in the ad didn't belong to anyone on Galactica.

MeBeJedi: Sadly, I believe the prequels are beyond repair.
JediRandy: They’re certainly beyond any repair you’re capable of making.

MeBeJedi: You aren’t one of us.
Go-Mer-Tonic: I can’t say I find that very disappointing.

JediRandy: I won’t suck as much as a fan edit.

I'M THINKING THE SAME THING, BUT I DO THINK THAT STARBUCK IS IN THE ROOM WHEN IT HAPPENS.

Ron Moore sets up the story so well for the end of season 2.0 - leaving us with feeling so much anticpation of what is to come - and then surprises us further with even higher quality storytelling in the 1st returning episode - leaving us wanting more...

Few things on tv I actually look forward to watching, but BSG is truly must-see tv

Nope- my guess is that its the tortured Cylon chick, let loose by the VP. A surprise to *everybody*!

Just watched the episode.

And it was bloody brilliant.

There have been a few moments in S2 that IMO haven't quite lived up to S1's near-perfectness (we shan't speak of "Tigh Me Up, Tigh Me Down"), but this episode convinced me that it's still as great as it's ever been.

Can't wait for next week. And now that I've figured out how to work the new DVR, there will be no missing of it for me.

YES, IT COULD BE THE TORTURED CYLON CHICK HOLDING GUN, BUT STARBUCK IS GOING TO BE WITNESS TO IT.

Starbuck will be there of course. My guess is that she'll wimp out (in a valiant way) at the last sec and then BAMMO out of seemingly nowhere the Cylon finishes the deed... I suppose similarly to what Baltar did during season 2 opening arc.

In that case, I must see it. Anyone able to help me out?

Space: Above and Beyond rocked it hard!!
My all time favourite show ever is The X-Files. It was consistently excellent, despite what some people say.

X-FILES WAS GOOD UNTIL THEY STARTED WRITING IN WHAT THE FANS WANTED TO SEE. PEOPLE TUNED IN TO SEE IF THEY WERE GOING TO SHOW ALIENS. ONCE THE WRITERS DID THAT PEOPLE LOST INTEREST. THEY SAW WHAT THEY WANTED TO SEE FROM THE VERY BEGINNING. THERE WAS NO MORE REASON TO WATCH THE SHOW.

X-Files was great until the conspiracy ended in season 6. Then it was merely okay. Then it got horrible sometime between Mulder's abduction and the introduction of the Super Soldiers.

Its funny, that's been my worry about BSG as well as with just about any series that starts off seemingly with a 'direction'. The worry is that there really isn't a direction. I like the idea of a finite series... a television novella. I hope that the new BSG producers have said to themselves- "Look this is where we are going with this and in season number ___ we'll end it and it will be awesome!" Hell if they can keep this pace up for just like two more seasons and end the series I'd be a happy camper and would rewatch the series on DVD often. Too many series start out great for a couple of seasons and then the creators lose interest and the show becomes crap.

X-File I used to LOVE in the first 3 or so seasons. Each episodes was a stand alone 'monster' show perfectly in the vein of the original 'Nightstalker' or similar shows. You didn't have to watch them in order, they were well written, etc. Then individual writers started peppering scripts with the 'alien conspiracy' crap. Each put his or her own spin on it and when Carter had to (or decided to) start pulling these threads together it just became a mess and I personally found it uninteresting and nigh unwatchable. Which then in turn made me less interested in re-watching the first few seasons- kinda ruining the show for me.

So basically I pray that, like it says in the opening of BSG, 'They Have A Plan'.

Well, I've never watched a single episode of BSG, so with the Season premiere of Season 2 (in Canada) on Saturday, I splurged on a late birthday present and bought season 1 on DVD. I have from now until Saturday evening to watch (according to the box) 12 hours and 36 minutes of Battlestar Galactica.

I'm trusting you guys. I know you won't let me down when you say a show is great.

I ORIGINALLY STARTED WATCHING THE SHOW ABOUT HALF WAY THROUGH SEASON THREE RIGHT INTO THE FIRST FEW EPISODES OF SEASON FOUR BEFORE MY WORK SCHEDULE GOT IN THE WAY. NOW, I'M ENJOYING IT COMMERCIAL AND WAIT FREE.

I was a huge X-Files fan but then I went off it for a bit for the reasons you guys mention. But then one week I watched every episode in order right up to whatver episode was the current one at the time and then got back into it. For me, the whole Mulder missing and the T-100 replacing him actually worked and I really enjoyed it. If you can, I recommens watching every episode on DVD in order over a period of a year or so, maybe one episode every couple of days. There are of course a few dud episodes but all in all, I think you will be satisfied.

Thank you! thank you! thank you! I'm only halfway through the first season, but I can't get enough of. I don't know what I'll do when I'm done and have to watch season two one episode a week! Of course, I guess I could order 2.0 from the states, but I think I'll wait.

I used to be an Alias nut back in the day. IMO, seasons 1 & 2 (especially 2) were some of the best tv I've ever seen. Season 3 took a major detour and blew cheese, again IMO. Season 4 was a minor improvement, but by the end it was obvious to me that the magic was gone. I watched the first 2 eps of this year and have never gone back. Too bad. It was really special for a while...
