I don’t believe its real and won’t until it happens. But Star Wars needs new voices and freshness. And a bit of shaking up. Filoni and Favreau are not that. It’s more of the same. The same stagnant garbage we’ve had for years. Mandoverse. It makes me hungry for anything but. Give me more Andor or Visions style shows. Or something else a show about something different in the Star Wars universe, does not even have to be Jedi or Sith related.

Could be a Lando show, Or show about the Droids. Or they could do something along the lines of a Rogue One but less of the nostalgia and familiar. Do something dark and gritty.

You could do a whole series about Luke’s Jedi Academy and his training of Ben Solo and the other students. The possibilities are endless but no one at Disney has any imagination.

They could do a Han and Chewie show where they are smugglers and go on adventures like Brian Daley novels. There is plenty of room to play around but they have to get over recasting roles and get rid of cartoon deepfakes. They learned the wrong lesson from Solo. It was, the time the film was released was poor. It was the screenplay, it was miscast leads and so on. Not that we needed Harrison to be deepfaked to accept the movie.

Yes to all of that. And I’d prefer it NOT be Jedi or Sith related. Man, we’ve been doing that for 50 years. It’s ok to move past it.

As for the Daley novels, that would be my preference before anything else. Good old fashioned, stand-alone, space adventures.

Well thanks for Andor then and the Original Original Trilogy getting restored. I’d toast her for those at least. If not the rest.

Returning to producing not retiring. And You know. She is a great producer. She just wasn’t cut out for running Lucasfilm, but she did it because George asked her. She ran Lucasfilm for over a decade. Hits and misses.

I think Mr. cartoon showrunner is going to need to step up a lot. I don’t think he is even on her level.

There is certainly no one to fill George’s tennis shoes.

DEADLINE: Let’s get to what the fans are eager to know. The progress on films and series by filmmakers who’ve committed to putting in that three to five years. Rian Johnson, James Mangold, Simon Kimberg, Taika Waititi. Where are all their projects at?

KENNEDY: I’ve got to tread a bit carefully here. Jim Mangold and Beau Willimon wrote an incredible script, but it is definitely breaking the mold and it’s on hold. Taika has turned in a script that I think is hilarious and great. It’s not just my decision, especially when I’ve got a foot out the door. Donald Glover has turned in a script. And as you have read, Steve Soderbergh and Adam Driver turned in a script written by Scott Burns. It was just great. Anything’s a possibility if somebody’s willing to take a risk.

I remember when I came into this job, the first thing Bob Iger said to me was, “Be bold.” I’ve always liked that because I think you have to be bold and you have to be willing to take risks with people and with ideas. Otherwise you are just doing the same thing. Right now we’re in an era where companies are so risk-averse, and I get it. I hear all the conversations. They’ve got Wall Street to please, and I get it, but I also believe that that’s what contributes to things disappearing, ultimately. I just think you have to take those chances.

Everything I just reeled off to you is taking a bit of a chance because none of those filmmakers are just walking in trying to do same old, same old. I’m excited by that, but the studio’s nervous about that, and that’s kind of where it sits at the moment.

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…
