The film A Death of A Unicorn was quite honestly a movie that had no business being as good as it was. It surpassed my expectations, which was that it was going to be worse than it was. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, but if you want something to make you question the hour and a half you put into it, then go ahead.

I just received my gatefold laserdisc for Never Say Never Again. And damn it looks brand new for a 41 year old videodisc it is awesome. I might watch that tonight, it’s an unauthorized James Bond by none other than Irvin Kershner. Not bad for 10 bucks. When film tickets are like 20-30 dollars. Inventing in old dvds, VHS or Laserdisc seems quite cost effective.

I can’t wait for my Arrow Lost in Space 4K to arrive. I haven’t seen that in well ages, probably since it came out. Or on VHS.

I watched Scream 2 on the weekend, oddly I remember first seeing it on it’s video release back in 1998 and not enjoying it at all but for some reason fancied revisiting it and really enjoyed.

Also re-watched The Black Phone as the other half hadn’t seen it.

The film The Curse of The Necklace is a fantastic horror movie, full of both twists, turns, and unintentionally hilarious moments.

The film Your Monster is an excellent combination of dark romance, irreverent humor and just a sprinkle of revenge fantasy. Excellently acted, shot and scored. I highly highly recommend it.

The film Frankenstein (2025) is a fantastic adaptation of the book. A much more faithful one, but with its own unique choices. As moving as the book and just as tragic. A must see for horror fans. I highly recommend it.

This weekend I finally got round to watch Excalibur (1981) I’ve tried watching this a few times in the past and as hard as I try to make it through I would instantly turn off when you first hear King Arthur speak lol.

His accent would make me lol and would switch off pretty much instantly but this weekend I thought it’s got a lot of positive reviews so I need to give it a chance and I’m glad I did, I really enjoyed.
Very good story and beautifully made, only one issue is the acting isn’t really the best but worth a watch either way.

The film Wicked For Good is a fantastic conclusion to the epic two parter. With the circle now closed I can finally give my thoughts on the whole thing. This story provides a look at the cost of lies. Of coveting power and selling your morals for notoriety. Though it also touches upon our society’s need for a villain and a hero, and how both titles are built to ensare the perceptions of others. The tragedy of it all lies in how without a doubt, the choices we make can save or destroy in the most pivotal of moments. A must see!

I love Excalibur. I despised King Arthur the Legend of the Sword and I still do. I like some of Guy Ritchie’s films not that film.

The film Zootopia Two is better than the original. It has heart, comedy, drama and mystery. I have been once again pleasantly surprised by this now duology. A must see!

The film Avatar Three Fire and Ash is a fantastic addition to the now trilogy. A cinematic masterpiece, with heart, easy to hate villains, and plenty of good character moments as well. A visual feast with an equally as stellar soundtrack. A must see!

The film Roofman (2025) is an unexpected true story of the rare occasion where a robber is also a social chameleon. I had never heard of the case before this and it’s incredibly rare for someone so intelligent to act so amorally.

The Last one i watched was Daisy Ridley in an action movie The Cleaner. I didn’t finish It. It was kind of ridiculous like a Die Hard movie without Bruce Willis. I guess Martin Campbell is stuck making these really bad low rent movies now. Not exactly Goldeneye is it or Casino Royale.

I also watched the tv movie Farscape the peacekeeper wars. In two parts.

I have The Mask from Arrow and Lost in Space and TMNT trilogy should be here in a matter of days but I haven’t watched any of them yet.

I also mean to watch some of these Marvel and DC movies or even the new Jurassic World and I’ve never gotten around to it, you know its not a priority. I still have to watch the last Avatar never mind the newest one. I’ve barely digested the last Spider-Man movie, and they have another coming out. Another Avengers. The days of watching one or two new films a week. Its not the 1990s. I always look at what a month of streaming costs, the costs of physical media and the cost of film tickets and I groan.

My book and film and video game, tv show/anime/manga backlog is so vast I can’t have fear of missing out. I used to care to catch every new film. Now maybe by the time I get around to watching something, It is more appreciated and Its not 30 gd dollars to watch once. The caveat of course being boutique labels and their insane prices. The Criterion and Arrows. Pick a few films can’t afford them all.

I finally watched The Thunderbolts* It was okay. I had heard good things and wasn’t a waste of time though it was a cludgy handling of mental illness, particularly bipolar disorder. Depictions of that kind are rarely handled well. One character that’s really amazing in the comics gets almost as poorly treated as Adam Warlock. Worth a watch though. Could have been so much better.
