Burning to DVD on Mac

Author

Hi I’ve downloaded Harmy’s editions and am really enjoying them. I was wondering if anyone had any recomendations for a programme which can burn them to dvd on a Mac. I’ve tried a couple of programmes like wondershare but nothing seemed to work.

the recommended programme in Handuet’s guide is for windows. Any suggestions gratefully received. Ideally something that’s v user friendly or comes with a good user guide. I’m terrible with tech.

many thanks - any help would be really appreciated.

It has been a good while since I burned anything on a Mac - so this is mainly from memory…

Toast, Burn, Disco, and iDVD were all pretty good and easy ways of burning DVDs, IIRC. Hopefully they are all still obtainable and work okay.

www.videohelp.com used to be really useful site for finding this kind of info - it may be worth checking out for more advice and up-to-date suggestions for software. 👍

Re Harmy’s Despecialized Edits - it’d be a pity to compress them to fit a DVDs. Would it be better to simply buy a portable USB drive and keep them on there? Evan a decent branded 128gb USB drive only costs ~£10 (and you’ll be able to put a lot more other content on there too).

Whatever you decide, please let us know how you get on with using any of the above software (or any other software you may end use using to burn to a DVD). 👍

Good luck with it!

thanks for the quick reply 😃

I will take your advice on the HD and purchase one. will ease the pressure on my mac HD which is currently full from the fan edits lol.

I took a look at the suggested programmes: I couldn’t find burn or disco. it looks like idvd was discontinued. And toast is $20, I’d rather only pay if someone know’s it’ll do the job.

I still want to compress to DVDs so I can share easily with my family (who are also big fans).

I’ll post something on videohelp.com and will let you know if I have any luck. In the mean time if anyone else has any advice please let me know.

thanks
