Tim, did you use the cover art of the new OT box set as the source of that art? It looks brighter and sharper than the other fan-made covers of Tom Jung's poster art. Do you have this cover available for download somewhere?

Hello all

First I would like to say that the covers in this thread are amazing. My hats off to the creators.
Second I am new at this and would like to try my hand at creating some of my own covers, but I am having trouble finding hi res posters, images for the backs of the disk cases, or much of anything hi res really, with or without text. I was wondering if anyone had any guidence on how to acquire well anything hi res worth working with.

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi & welcome Kirk,

There are a couple of Hi-Res Poster / Image threads further on down in this forum - there are a fair few quality posters linked in there.

Hope you find what you're looking for...

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Thanks oojason

I'll be sure to check those out. It didn't even cross my mind to check further in this forum.

At the beginning of this thread there is a link to a MUX.dmg file. I think this is a MAC file. Does
anyone know how to open it on a PC??

You're right Ell the covers are exactly the same as the ones released in 04. The only difference in this set is that the Bonus Materials disk isn't included and the case that holds the three movies together is different. I got one for an early christmas present. Its still cool though, another box set to help complete my collection.

Kirk

Anyone got any idea about opening that MUX.dmg file on a PC??

The only two differences is that the Bonus Material disk in't included and the box that holds the three movies together is different, granted I haven't yet put the disks in the DVD player to see if any material was added, but at first glance that was the only two differences that I found. Edit: Sry about the double posting my browser freaked and i thought i lost the original.

A .dmg file is the OS X native disc image file format. It might work if you try mounting the .dmg image using your favorite burning app. I don't use windows so I don't know all the programs. Maybe Nero or Roxio? I know I can mount most any disc image format in OS X natively and using Toast (OS X), like dmg, img, iso, bin, cue, whatever. Give it a try.

But, you might not want to bother. The MUX.dmg file is just a bunch of mp3's (I was curious so I checked). I'm sure those SW covers have been gone for a long time.

You can go about your business. Move along, move along.

It's from a scan of the 2006 poster calendar, I've cropped and adjusted some of the levels to my own taste...The image itself is now part of a PSD file (the DVD cover), when I'm finished I'll put the covers up at yousendit.com, then anyone who wants to crop it and use can do so.

Does anyone have covers for the TB-special edition set? And, could someone have found YourFriendKaysar's covers for the OT?

I have yet to find someone that has them. I still hoping that YourFriendKaysar will post them soon.

I do not fear the Dark Side as you do.

Looking for some ideas for an "unusual" Return of the Jedi cover for the Classic Edition.

Are there any good paintings out there, I mean REALLY good, that depict Jedi scenes, and can be scanned full page?

Otherwise, I'm thinking the best route might be altering the normal Jedi poster and doing odd things to it. Giving it a red and green color scheme (Luke's saber green, background red), merging that with the "Vader" poster from Revenge of the Jedi.

There is that "fireworks" Jedi poster that depicts 3PO and R2 and some fireworks, that might be a nice element to use. I'm really not sure. I don't like a lot of the Jedi posters, apart from the official one. The painting just isn't any good on them. I don't like the UK one with Luke holding Leia, and the one with the Death Star exploding (badly painted) in the middle is merely "okay." The painting on the official one, on the other hand - really top notch.
