Note: This is actually the first appearance of source used for the 1993 Technidisc laserdisc transfer!

I think this may be the first completed preservation for the letterbox widescreen option of this release on here, too.

Wow. I have this but mine is missing the certificate. I also seem to have lost the creative impulse excerpt that just covers the Star Wars trilogy. For years it was just 3 tapes i found Star Wars to Jedi somewhere else and put it back together with the others. I also still have the Styrofoam inlay.

I had better put into storage again before it gets all covered with dust.

Thank you for this. I always felt this North American VHS release was the epitome of the Star Wars home video experience, as close as you can get to seeing it in the theatre with the scratches and grain, not cleaned up like the 1990s THX remastered versions. Until recently, I didn’t know this came in widescreen, so that’s a huge bonus. I always thought the CBS tapes were only available pan and scan version to fit our TVs.
