I'm not surpised, this IS the Ashlee Simpson generation, after all.

Actually, the most appear to prefer ESB, so they can't be too far off. Plus, they seem to really dislike TPM and AOTC. So they do fit the "OOT purist" point of view... almost.

Same here IMO Star Wars is best of the lot, though Empire is the better made film

Revenge of the Sith is #2 because it is so popular right now. Had you asked that poll 3 years ago, ATOC would be at #2, and if you ask 6 years ago, TPM would have been at #2 because it was the newest and most popular.

Yet, time and time tested again, The Empire Strikes Back kicks ass EVERY SINGLE TIME!! How's that for your prescious "CGI" Lucas? That movie is bulletproof! It survived your renditions in '97, and contunes to be the least messed around with movie.

Don't feel dishartened about the lack of A New Hope votes people. I too would have voted for ESB. Most of those ESB votes were a toss up between ANH and ESB itself. It was a close call. I would have had a tough time voting between ESB and ANH myself.

But take a look at the numbers:

PT = 23,193 people say that their #1 movie falls in the Prequel Trilogy.
OT = 43,289 people say that their #1 movie falls in the Original Trilogy. That is almost TWICE as many. Oh yeah. We're still going strong.

On a side note, today on the Jim Rome Show he quoted what Steven Spielberg said about the end of Star Wars,"I'll admit it, I cried at the end of Star Wars: ROTS."

Jim Rome's response was, "You might not want to admit that, Spielberg" and then added, "Although ... personally, I know a few people who cried at end of Star Wars ... they cried because they just paid $10.00 to see this peice of crap!"

You don't have to be a purist to hate the prequels. You can actually have a brain and dislike rubbish films

I agree with Kev Thats a load of old crap the so called "Star Wars purists" are the only ones that hate the Prequels, I know and read loads of other type of film fan that hate them and mock them. and i am sure a percentage of Special Edition Star Wars people dont like as well as read elswhere

And there are those who really, really enjoy them and aren't so critical.
