I’ve not actually watched any of the LOTR movies, but I’m working my way through the books and then watching the films afterwards. I want to see them in the best quality possible and extended, and my streaming services just don’t provide that for me.
So I’m very interested in the (DrD)remaster.
I think high quality content.

May I also have a link to any of the completed EE 4K projects? Does anyone know if DrDre is ok as it looks like he’s been inactive here for a while? I worry when people drop off the net, especially if they’re uniquely talented or generous with their projects. It feels like such a loss to the world. 😦

It often takes more than a day for someone to get back to you, mate. Sometimes it can take over a month… or year.
Hopefully you read the thread and PM’d neohanime - who is kindly helping people out with this project.

Hello, I just compared the colors of the this extended regraded version to the 2002 DVD, the 2010 Blu-ray, the 2011 extended Blu-ray and the 2020 UHD Blu-ray. To my surprise, it doesn´t match any of those versions; Dr Dre said he was using a “35mm film reference frames” for the regrading, so my question is:
Did the movie I watch back in 2001 had colors different to the one used in the 2002 DVD and 2010 Blu-Ray??? I watched the DVDs so many times on my CRT that the super warm Rivendel ended up feeling like the real thing to me… but it wasn´t?

To be honest, while all 3 films would be a dream, I’m pretty pleased with my old EE Blu-rays for TTT and ROTK which upscale nicely in my TV, it’s mainly FOTR that is in real desperate need of a good colour grade in a high resolution (it’s also my favourite) so I stay hopeful we get part two of this one day. I’ve been holding off watching part one but I did have a quick look and as expected, it looks great.
