What have you thought about the past few episodes?

I'm finding this season a little uneven compared to season 1

I was one of the biggest advocates of the show on this forum last season. This season, I can take it or leave it. In all honesty, I think it sucks this season. I still watch it in hopes that it will get better, but if I were to accidentally forget to set the VCR or not put the cable box on the proper channel for recording, I wouldn't be heartbroken. I'm giving it just a few more episodes before I give up entirely.

I know the feeling. the Hurley episode is the only one that has been of the 1st seasons standard. The show use to be character driven and it felt like there was a master plan, now it seems to be niether.

even just on a visual level I don't get the same wow factor that they use to squeeze out of their amazing location

I think Lost is a great show. It is the second best network show on television. I would put Arrested Development ahead of it because I think it has reinvented the sitcom.

It started very slowly this year. The second episode of this season was their worst yet. Nothing happened in the present or the flashbacks. If you are going to introduce a shark, you need it to do something. I'm not saying it has to eat anybody, but it has to meance the other characters. Neither Michael nor Sawye seemed particularly frightened by the shark and even left their legs dangle in the water.

After that, the episodes have improved and it has returned to its greatness. I think the last episode's final minutes were brilliantly staged. If I hadn't accidently read some spoilers, it would have been very shocking.

I agree. But I think the episode up until that point was a little all over the place. having to intercut between the two groups of survivors has given the show less focus, so now that they are all reunited it should help the show tremendously.

I haven't lost faith in the show yet, but when i compare to last year where there were NO bad episodes, its been a little rough this year. Nothing happened in that Jin episode a few weeks back. Mr. Echo is a cool character, but I hate how the tail section people can't give a straight answer when there is no reason for them not to do so. And Michael and Sawyer didnt even ask about their hatch, which they should of since they don't even know about the main hatch back with Jack and Kate (where have they been lately??)

To me the first time I was ever dissappointed with this show was when the showed that the hatch had a front door, that felt like the writers being lazy and pretty much debunked any logic outof the hatch to begin with. Why have a sealed hatch with an elaborate system of mirrors for security if you also have an unguarded door 10ft away?

Either way I think next week will be good.

By the way you are right, arrested development kicks ass, too bad its going to get cancelled again

I live in the UK and got hooked on Lost - so much so I decided to make good us of my broadband and acquire it up to around the point where you lucky people in the US are watching the new eps.

Have to say I regret it now - most of my mates are all watching the UK eps - around 15 eps behind me, and so when they're all talking about it and trying to figure out future events and stroylines - I just have to sit quietly in the room with my best poker face on - as they all search for any any reactions from me - very disconcerting! lol

...though I have now learnt my lesson and will not be acquiring any more shows that air before being shown in the UK (new Battlestar Galactica, being the exception - of course )

Like oojason, I too have seen all the first season episodes and am up to date the the US shows.
I still think it's a bloody good show.

But the most annoying thing is that because I had a copy of season one, me and the missus watched from ep 8 to the end in about a week.
And because I had the first season about 7 weeks ago, I became a star amongst her freinds, who all begged me for a copy

Now like you guys over in the states, we have to resort to watching each episode week by week. Just isn’t the same!

But Shannon’s shooting and the re-uniting of the castaways can only mean better things ahead!

It's great!!

In an interview Lindeloff said in the episode next week we will find out Ana lucia's profession, and it would shock us. I'm banking on Nun

Also, if anyone has spoilers for the show and posts them make sure you put a spoiler warning because I try to avoid them.

I finally got around to watching last week's episode and it was much better than they have been lately. Although I wonder what Abrams and Lindeloff have against that family. If you've watched it, you know what I mean.

Yeah. I don't think Abram's is involved with the show at all after the pilot though. Just lended his name to get it made and wrote/directed the pilot and helped map out the series. Its lindeloff at the helm now.

Tonights was solid, best one of the season hands down. proves that character driven storytelling beats big revelations.

I was skeptical going into last night's episode, but they are pulled it off enough that I don't mind that I haven't seen Jack or Kate in two weeks.

I'm guessing Anna Lucia is a schoolteacher.

I'll take Ana Lucia as a paid assassin. She's got hitwoman written all over her.

yeah but that seems obvious, I think they will throw a curve ball, to make her more sympathetic, like 9/11 firefighter hero or something

How about she is a bounty hunter who was trying to track down Kate, but the agent beat her to it. Now she's going to wind up back within reach of her but never able to do anything about it as there is no reward available being stranded on an island.

Still upset about Maggie Grace.

I wasn't attached to her character, and based on hottie status I'd rather her then losing Kate, or claire or Sun

Nothing against MG, she seems a very good actress, but her character was sort of short of potential once Boone died.

I loved hating her. And she was becoming a much better character this season since taking responsibility for Walt's dog and getting involved with Sayid and having her "visions."

I used to love Kate, but she's nothing anymore, really. Sun I would hate to lose. Claire I could care less about.

I was hoping that it was claire that killed Shannon, that would of beefed up her character a lot

Kate is indeed nothing but eye candy now. her contributions this season have been to crawl through a vent at a convient camera angle, and to take a shower. Its too bad EL is a good actress, the kate character has kind of been hit and miss from about halfway through season1. I don't really care what she did but they've tried to milk that card for more then its worth.

This show needs to get its footing again, Last week was solid and they need to keep that up for the rest of the season because the first 6 were very uneven. Needs to get back its character driven strength and the way it use to juggle the characters so easily, because thats what is hurting the show the most, too many characters at the moment.

Agreed. You can't feel sympathy for any of them because there are too many and their stories are very thin at the moment. Even Locke, who was my favorite character on TV last year is very subpar this season.
