Oh so no showrunner or Doctor is conducive to a good 60th? My point wasn’t that Chibnall and Whittaker would give us a good 60th, just that they’d give us any 60th at all. I hope they have showrunner and Doctor lined up for 2033, but even then it’ll be super weird having an anniversary special in their first year.

I meant that the 60th will be amazing, unlike your prounouncement.

I’m just a simple man trying to make my way in the universe.

Star Wars has 3 eras: The eras are 1977-1983(pre Expanded Universe), (1983-2014) expanded universe, or (2014- now) Disney-bought version. Each are valid.

I’ve been thinking lately that I should try to get caught up on Who (quit back in series eight); now seems like the perfect time.

The 60th is two years away and, based on past changeovers, the BBC will have a new showrunner and lead signed (and maybe even announced) by the end of this year. I think the concern is more on who the showrunner and lead will be rather than not having one.

Oh man, you’re really missing out on Series 10.

Based on the way Moffatt’s writing was going, I’m going to assume this is sarcasm.

No, no, once you get past all that Clara crap you get two way better companions. Granted Clara’s departure is absurdly over the top she gets an ending way happier than she deserves, but like I said, it gets better after that. World Enough and Time / The Doctor Falls is widely considered one of the greatest stories in the show’s history.

If I watch it and it’s terrible, I’m holding you personally responsible.

It’s only terrible if you’re a close minded misogynist.

I’m sorry what? We’re not talking about S11 or S12, and even if we were, I’ve already tediously established how ricdiculous it is to call anyone who disliked fairly mediocre series a mysoginist just because the protagonist is now a woman. This is just myopic wilful ignorance.

Only recently got into Doctor Who, I managed to see a couple of episodes from season 10 and it got me hooked but I would rather start from the beginning. I’m currently on Season 1 Boom Town👍

I’ve really enjoyed Big Finish’s 8th Doctor stuff. Started with Storm Warning and currently into Doom Coalition. It’s hard to find time to watch anything but I can listen more consistently. It’s especially fun knowing that the 8th Doctor essentially had a career due to wishes and fishes, sort of like fandom over Mara Jade or Thrawn back in the day.

The production quality is better than you’d think for an audio drama. It’s just as good as the show, just in a different format.

I plan to finish through what’s out for the 8th Doctor so far chronologically, then the War Doctor, then start rewatching the 2005 revived series.

My stance on revising fan edits.

Honestly the best trailer we’ve had for the show in a long time. Those alien designs look incredible!

Yes! I’m a huge fan of Big Finish.

Got into them at the same time I was first getting into the franchise itself. I incorporated the 6th Doctor’s Lost Stories into my watch through of the classic series. The original Lost Stories run from The Nightmare Fair through to The Macros makes for a fantastic replacement for the lost season of the classic series. It really builds up and enhances the Sixth Doctor’s friendship with Peri.

But it was Storm Warning and 8’s run in the main range that really sealed my love of Big Finish.

Nice!

Series 1 is not really the beginning, but as a good a place to start as any!

Spearhead from Space is my recommended starting point. Either that or Terror of the Autons, because no more missing episodes (some in lower quality than others) and it’s a fun show at that point.

I don’t see why you’d skip ahead a single season like that to Terror of the Autons.

That seems like an arbitrary decision to skip a relatively small amount of content. It’s like starting the Modern Series with S2 to get to Tennant faster.

Ryan and Graham already left a year or two ago. Only Yaz remains, soon to be joined by Dan.

For me…

Best Doctor Who EVAH! 😉

Spoilers:-

Well, the best episode since The Doctor stated his favourite band was The Housemartins - and they put on the best gig he ever went to.

^ “Liverpool! Anfield! Klopp era! Classic. Ooh, Yaz, maybe we could take in a game. I’ve seen the Barcelona match nine times. I was a ball boy for Trent once.”

Top mention for the Williamson Tunnels too.
Also for showing foodbanks as well.

If it’s been below your radar, Hallmark has some sweet Doctor Who ornaments this year.

I really want that Tardis, as I lost the vintage paperweight one I had when I moved last year. Or maybe it simply de-materialized?
