Hopefully less than those IDW reprints of the strips which were not printed full size. If a Dark Horse reprint It will be Classic Star Wars which was a reformatting of the strips from the 1990s. Making it one continuous thing and removing the recaps and serial nature of it.
My favorite is still the Russ Cochran black and white printing of the Al Williamson material which oversize but also not full size. The IDW reprint was tiny.
Mine is kind of beat up from a dentists office. The 3 volume set. But it is signed by Al And Archie. These still sell from time to time but they are always in the 300 dollar and up range. I paid like half that. The slipcase has a little wear the volumes have been read once or twice by me. Though at=re in a box now, gods knows if the movers damaged them I hope not. I took out very few books and put them out i have Rinzler making of Star Wars. and of course, in my bedroom I have the hardback for thrawn trilogy and dark empire trilogy combined in an omnibus, I think there is a Hardback planned of the Al Williamson Classic Star Wars stuff and it will be around a hundred US.
I think I have Tales of the Jedi hardback as well, but I’m not sure. I do have all but the first of the original Marvel years volumes. The volume with Howard Chaykin goes for hundreds of dollars in hardback and has never been reprinted.
I don’t have the Marvel UK or Droids volume. I wanted them to do Star Wars Republic in hardback and they’ve done them in the paperback volumes and in digital edition. They have a hardback coming at some point that collects all of the Cade Skywalker legacy material. I’d like to get Mara Jade by the Emperor’s hand and Splinter of the Minds Eye, and Shadows of the Empire then I see some of the prices the hardback volumes command once out of print, also its Disney they rarely are discounted. Especially with Diamond comics distributors being gone and Things from another world being gone. Its a real shame Amazon took over the entire space of bookselling, other than looking for small independents on ebay. Barnes and Noble never discounts anything, not books.
Sometimes if you don’t mind a remaindered copy you can get a volume for decent money. But they aren’t collectors items with a small ding in the cover or a remainder marker mark. If you buy books to read them and for them not to be pretty all but the first Omnibus Star Wars Hardback from the new Disney Marvel should be findable. Except for Artists editions or limited editions. All but the black and white Star Wars artifact edition are impossible to find. Dark Times artists edition and especially the Empire Strikes Back by Al Williamson you aren’t finding those.
I would have liked a premium format edition of the original Star Wars comic adaptation from Howard Chaykin but they reprinted the Barreto 1997 Special Edition. The Chaykin material with original colors would be in the TPB Marvel Epic Collection. And of course, the already mentioned Hardcover with Hildebrandt cover. Long out of print since 2015.
