LFL has proven again and again they are more than happy to continually rerelease these movies to sell people the same thing over and over, but this one has me baffled-there's nothing new about it whatsoever, and it's actually inferior to the '04 set since there's no bonus disc. Calling it a "limited edition" is just another tired marketing ploy. There's nothing remotely special or interesting about this set-it doesn't even include anything extra like an exclusive bonus DVD or film cel. LFL has become like Paramount in regards to Star Trek, in that their main cash cow has been milked to death, but at least Paramount improves their rereleases. This is just a joke and an insult.

The cover art is much better, wish they'd used those the 1st time around. I'm sure this lower-priced "limited edition" 3 disc set will sell like hotcakes for Christmas, but I wonder if this will also be a way of sneaking in a corrected ANH w/o having to admit it wasn't a creative decision to reverse the rear channel music? Now they can just say it was a creative decision to make some changes to this new set. Yeah, sounds stupid, but no more than the first "creative decision" answer.

Hope they fix the errors on the last set on this release - though by the sheer amount of them it seems unlikely - far too much work for Lucas' lazy companies to correct them all. Seemingly, this'll be another disappointing cash-in...

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

There were numerous errors, but hopefully they could at least fix the worst of them, like Luke's saber on the falcon and the reversed audio channels.

LFL won't fix anything because they would have to admit they were errors to begin with, instead of the "creative decisions" excuse they pawned off on the fans. They will not admit culpability for releasing a mediocre product; I imagine they view themselves as being infallible. In their eyes, there is no problem and thus to reason to fix anything.

Doesn't matter to me. Studios re-release titles all the time. Sometimes with better editions, sometimes with worse. It's just part of the DVD world. Since this is a downgrade of last year's version, there's neither any need to rebuy it (unless you really love the cover that much) or get upset over it.
