In the regular cut, the voices are fine because The World Between Worlds has already been established but any pre-OT Jedi coming back as physical ghosts doesn’t fit with what we’ve seen (excluding Qui-Gon and possibly Ahsoka).

Interestingly enough, the novelization pretty much flat out tells the reader that the voices are coming from the World Between Worlds. Which does mean it’s different than Force ghosts. More has to do with potential realities, pasts, and futures.

Didn’t remember this and just checked:

The battle above disappeared. Instead, Rey saw a perfect sky, vast with stars. Peaceful. Light-filled. It was like she was staring through a window to somewhere else, a place between places.

More voices came at her fast but gentle, as though she lay at a confluence of the Force, possibilities, futures and pasts all stretching away with her, or maybe leading toward her. The cosmos, time, energy, being- nothing was the way she’d thought it was.

Presences filled her aware, some recent, some ancient, some anchored to the living in a strange way. Rey didn’t understand. But she accepted.

Huh. So not only does it basically say this is through the World Between Worlds, but the interesting part is the “some anchored to the living” part, which to me clearly seems like them keeping the door open for Ahsoka to still be alive. And if they later decide she’s dead by this point, that can just be taken as being from another Force sensitive at the time. Ezra? Who knows.

I’m not going to have the time any more to do the graffiti for the Kijimi composites, sadly. So if anyone else wants to take the reigns on that, feel free.

I could try my hand at incorporating it if Hal or someone provided the video for where they would want the graffiti.

You probably don’t recognize me because of the red arm.

I haven’t had time to draw any designs to incorporate into the footage, I mean - some unexpected big life changes happened this week (nothing bad!), and as a result I’m not going to have time for any hobbies for at least the next month or so. If nobody else has drawn anything when I eventually get the time, I’ll definitely still draw a design, but I’m not trying to call “dibs” or anything that might slow the process down!

Here’s an idea for an edit to the Battle of Exegol that uses some Vehicle Flythroughs footage:

I like this a lot! Of course, it would depend on being able to successfully overdub that line though, to make sure the sequence still makes logical sense. Also, would it be possible to move the camera a bit on the insert? A slight zoom, and/or a small pan to the right? J.J. moves his camera so much, especially during action scenes; it stands out to me as an artificial insert if it basically pauses on a static shot mid-sequence.

Also, this isn’t related to anything at all, but you know when Rey and Kylo are dueling on the Death Star, and Rey turns around and pushes Finn back? I was thinking it might be cool to have lightning shoot out and hit Finn, rather than a Jedi-like Force Push (kind of like when Snoke threw Kylo back in TLJ, he did it with a burst of lightning). Just like with the lightsaber sputtering out, it would symbolize that she’s dangerously close to losing control (something I never really felt in the theatrical version), and it would help to build to her stabbing Kylo in a cheap shot and then wanting to flee. (REY: “I’m here because I had a vision of myself on the Sith Throne.” LUKE: “Rey, that was 90 minutes ago! You haven’t even used any Sith powers since Pasaana, and that was four locations back!”)

God, just imagine it - the rain, the crackly saber, the bleak Duel of the Fates music…Rey accidentally loses control and shoots lightning at her friend (again), and then a minute later the legendary Skywalker Saber - that she failed to rebuild - starts to sputter out. She has utterly failed as a Jedi. It’s genuinely her lowest point in the film - makes a whole lot more sense why she would suddenly be so scared that she goes into hiding on Ahch-To.

Actually add something to Finn’s character in the movie?! WHAT?!

Lol, just rotoscope Palpy’s face onto Finn’s. But honestly, Grandpa Sheev is the only one who was actually deformed by lightning. (That’s why it makes so much more sense in your Ep. III edit, Hal.)

I know! Someone removed the lightning from Palpster’s hands when he raises the Fleet, yes? Let’s just reinsert that lighting onto Rey. That’s how VFX work, right?

Am I the only one who was surprised to learn that Pryde was in the Steadfast (First Order Destroyer) during the battle of Exegol? For the longest time I thought he was just in a Final Order command ship.

Honestly, it kinda makes Finn knowing which ship had the signal through the Force super stupid. Like, of course the ship that looks nothing like the others has the signal.

The lightning on Endor idea is rad. I hope someone can make it work.

Yes! hahaha!

But all seriousness … That would be an interesting idea if it can be done and looks seamless. Interesting…

while u guys debate the merits of XY and Z of narrative purpose, philosophies, thats like one of the first things i noticed.

i dont think its as “stupid” as it is. afterall, its more like amongst a sea of star destroyers ID’ing that one ship carrying out the signal. Thus, finding a needle amongst a stack of needles. Though, it presses more on how much of a missed opportunity it was to not follow up on Finn’s force sensitivity. It’s a cheap plot device to the average viewer, and a subtle hint to the fan that re-watches and re-watches.

Lol, so true.

Exactly jarbear. All the other ships are old Imperial designs EXCEPT for that one. So of course.

Well, I have no idea how to actually add the lightning into the shot; but I was able to add the sound effects of Rey’s lightning from earlier into the scene. If anyone who knows how to do the lightning effect wants to take over from here, that would be amazing!

That works especially well with Finn’s particular groans in this part; it’s like he’s recovering from getting zapped!
