Man, I’d love to have seen GoldenEye with Dalton.
Live and Let Die it is. I think I’ll take this as an opportunity to rewatch all of the Moore Bond films in order. I was going to do that when he died but never got around to it.

The Spy Who Loved Me is back on the big screen Aug 27th and 30th at Cinemark owned theaters. Check your local listings!
Where were you in '77?
I’m really excited to watch the Living Daylights again today. Maybe I’ll watch Licence to Kill if I have time. I love the Dalton Bond films. I wish he’d have been able to make one or two more before Brosnan took over.

I just so happen to know a Dalton who would probably be willing to watch it with you.

glad to know i am not the only one who read it that way 😃
Well shit. I’ll leave it uncorrected as a monument to poor sentence structure.
I’d love to watch it with Timothy Dalton.
The Person in Question
I think I can safely say that Spectre is my least favorite Bond film. It’s painfully average for the first hour and a half, which makes it impossible for that to make up for the appallingly, dare I say insulting attempt to create some kind of cinematic universe out of the Craig timeline. I thought they’d learned their lesson from Quantum not to try and make direct sequel Bond films but I guess not. Hopefully this will teach them for good.
The Person in Question
Anyone else listening to the James Bonding podcast and following along with their rewatch? They’re doing a movie every other week with each host alternating who chooses. They’ve done Goldeneye, Goldfinger, A View to a Kill, Tomorrow Never Dies, The Living Daylights, and License to Kill so far (they did all of them a couple years ago with different guests). Next up is Skyfall.
Is there any reasoning to their order or is it just whichever they feel like watching next?
The Person in Question
The second one. In the first “season” they worked their way to the middle alternating going forward from Dr. No and backward from Skyfall (Spectre wasn’t out yet). This time they’re just winging it.
No, but I listen to my online friend John’s SMERSH POD.

Anyone, here, going to Wolf Trap-Vienna, VA for the Casino Royale (2006)-live to projection concert?
That concert began playing in London’s Royal Albert Hall in 2017. Here are a few videos from that concert-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfsTiFoVD0s
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pBpwhTbtXU
This concert had played this year in Switzerland, Japan, and Poland were the audience saw the international cut that has 22 seconds of extra footage. In those YouTube videos, there’s a shot during the bathroom fight scene where Bond bashes the bad guy with a full-length swivel door. That shot is not in the USA cut. That said fight and the stairwell fight scenes were trimmed for USA theaters to satisfy the MPAA–over 4 and 3/4th seconds and over 18 and a half seconds were removed for each scene, respectively. The music for these scenes were edited to fit the length of trimmed scenes.
Wolf Trap is the first USA territory for Casino Roayle-Live concert. I am curious as to what cut they are going to play there, this Sunday–the USA cut or the extended International cut. If the USA cut is to be screened, the concert’s producers, Film Concerts Live, would have to do the work in transcribing the edited music of these said trimmed sequences on to the orchestral pages for the musicians to play, among other things to consider.
Either way, this event will be interesting to witness.
Edit:
Read about the International cut vs USA cut here
Looks like the Casino Royale cut shown at the Wolf Trap concert, last Sunday, was the international cut. Here are a few images of shots exclusive in the international cut. The top is from the international cut Blu Ray, the bottom is that same frame, as seen in the concert. 'Sorry for the out of focus quality.
At this time, the closet that Americans will get to have Casino Royale-Live is in Canada.

Have any of you in the USA seen the international cut in a USA theater?

He’s a great choice, but so was Sam Mendes as evident in Skyfall. It’s the studio meddling that causes problems, as was seen with Spectre. If they let Fukunaga do his job then I’m excited to see what we get.
The Person in Question
It looks like they’re not discarding all of the horrible, embarrassing plot developments that came in Spectre. My anticipation for this upcoming Bond movie is basically rock bottom. Why can’t they figure out that when you fuck around and try to do direct sequels to previous films in this series, it doesn’t work? This is evident in Quantum and Spectre. Bond doesn’t need to be a cinematic universe. The reason the series is so great is because anyone can drop in for a film and not need to have seen the previous ones. Why can’t we just have a great, standalone adventure anymore?

Because cinema is dead, movies & tv have merged, etc. See: https://www.rogerebert.com/mzs/avengers-mcu-and-the-content-endgame
The director could be promising… but Spectre was godawful. I would have just admitted defeated and got Martin Campbell back to save them again. Also they need to get David Arnold back.

I hope it is better than Spectre, and I am looking to watching it very much.
R4
The upcoming Bond has so many red flags that I think this will be the first Bond I’m not interested to see in theatres. All the feminist crap and from the article “Phoebe Waller-Bridge is one of the writers” who I hated in Solo etc., this seems to have nothing left from 007.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

‘Diamonds Are Forever,’ ‘Goldeneye,’ and ‘Octopussy’ Wal-Mart Exclusives
3 classic Bond titles are going to be released for the first time on Blu-Ray as separate single disk versions exclusively at Wal-mart.
Now it also looks like ‘Diamonds are Forever,’ ‘Goldeneye,’ and ‘Octopussy’ will be available at Wal-Mart on October 2.
The suggested list price for the boxed set is $299.99 and the individual Blu-rays are $19.99.
The complete series of films (on Blu-Ray) up to and including QoS, is to be released as a 22 title set called “Bond 50”. This set will be released on September 25, 2012
still have them on VHS …got them in the Bond of the month club lol
I know I’m in the minority but to me it has all been downhill since the abomination appeared in 2006. And it only looks to get worse the more we see about NTTD.
I’m even able to find people wondering what’s going on in Bond forums now and some actually listen to all of my gripes with the modern films where they seem to have discarded the character entirely.
But it does seem like the 4K remasters of the original series will finally see the light of day probably for 25’s release and after seeing some screencaps of the new versions some wrongs may finally have been righted.
