SilverWook's vintage Star Wars newspaper clippings (and other stuff) thread. (LARGE IMAGE INTENSIVE!)

Something I’ve been wanting to do for a while is share all the stuff I used to snip out of the local papers, Tv Guide, or otherwise hoard over the years. My old ISP made uploading to imgur an exasperating experience, but now that’s no longer a problem, away we go! Going to try for a semi-chronological order with this, but there are a few things I’m unsure of the exact year now. Some of this stuff was way to big for a scanner and the rest might combust like a vampire on a sunny day if I tried!
And if you’re trying to view this thread on a cell phone, I don’t know what to tell you. 😉

1982(?)

1983

I used to get invites to such things from being in the original official fan club. Never had any way to get to them though!

Not sure what year this ran. Probably before 1990?

And that’s all folks!
Unless I find another batch in the dark corners of my house…

^ awesome ! reminds me of a similar scrapbook I made as a kid , wish I still had it , it had newspaper articles and all the toy ads I could find. I really like that Star Wars to Jedi advert with the line art of Vader , never seen that before ! And for a lark , I called the toll free NPR number on the Empire Radio advert , it is active as a home cell phone service company !

Well, at least it’s not a sex chat line now. 😛

Also, I’m not responsible for the consequences of dialing up phone numbers in 36 year old ads.

😃

I loved reading through all of that - especially the Richard Marquand interview in '83 - nice one.

Does anyone who went to the 10th Anniversary remember what “rare films from the Lucasfilm library” they showed?
