While that is an entirely inconsequential thing to complain about, and also a stupid reason to not like the movie, if I had my way, the purple hair would be gone.

Ive been messing around with the secondary color correction to give her brown hair. Sadly, it’s not been very successful, yet.

And it’s a Star Wars movie. It’s honestly one of the stupidest complaints I have heard about the Last Jedi.

Teh lady haz purple hair!

While that is an entirely inconsequential thing to complain about, and also a stupid reason to not like the movie, if I had my way, the purple hair would be gone.

It’s better than the refuge from a Wendy’s ad red hair that she was sporting in Twin Peaks - The Return.

Why does it even matter? Because nobody else in star wars ever looked weird from a fashion or hair style sense 🙄

Some people just still don’t appreciate Prince, I guess?

A shame - a little more diversity, something a little different, across the ‘rank and file’ of Rebels being in the Resistance/Rebellion - giving just another layer towards that ‘rag-tag group coming together from many differing backgrounds to fight the bad guys’ isn’t a bad thing in my book.

Did Holdo having purple hair take me out of the movie? No, it looked pretty cool (to me) and seems a few of the younger folks these day like the coloured hair…

😉

Some people just like/prefer conformity I suppose, or brown hair - even in sci-fi. Meh.

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

I love the sound of all of this except keeping in the steam iron. I agree with you about the leaf scene, for example, the humour is in-scene, not meta. It serves the story and the growing relationship between Rey and Luke. The steam iron would be a great little gag in a parody movie like Spaceballs, but if you’re going for a straight-face Star Wars movie, I really would leave it out. It’s your party though.

Here is a screen test of Holdo with an ugly looking silverish gray hair. This is just to test changing the hair, not the color, since I would prefer brown hair.

At the end of the day, I don’t know how someone could perfect it. There will always be some purple spots left over like in my screen test above and often other colors in the frame will be changed on accident.

I leave for a while and my thread looks like The Golden Years. I’m not planning on changing Holdo’s hair color, though it is ridiculous.

I don’t see how weird colors are worse than weird style but k

I’m not sure if EvenSteven wants any more talk about Holdo’s hair (if so, let me know and I can take down this post), but since there’s been discussion here, I think changing her hair to brown is doable using colorista in After Effects, which has secondaries and power masks.

Here’s a sample:

This would still require going shot by shot and animating the masks, but it does seem doable.

Can you PM me a link to your edit please?

The unfortunate reality of the Star Wars prequel and Disney trilogies is that they will always be around. Forever. They will never go away. It can never be undone.

I also prefer to be referred to as “TNT”, not “Freezing”.

Oh man, this is the ONLY thing that would make me go back and update my Clean Cut… lol but i’d need all her scenes done and that doesn’t seem likely.
