READ TILL THE END PLEASE!

Hi everyone!

Im a Spanish guy. I was downloaded “A new hope” the despecialized edition 2.5.1. and i noticed some audio mistakes in the castillan audio track (NOT LATINO).

First: when R2-D2 scapes from Lars farm and Luke try to looking for it using the electronic binoculars, C3-PO was saying something about its Complement. In castillan it said “… Los astrdes se nos escapan de las manos…” instead of “…Los astroandroides se nos escapan de las manos…”

Second: When Obi Wan and Luke exit from the Canteen, Obi Wan says to Luke that he must sales his speeder. In castillan he said “…No pienso volver nunca más a este planetata…” instead of “…No pienso volver nunca más a este planeta…”

Both words were bad recordered in the 1993´s THX Laser Disc castillan audio remix edition (NOT LATINO). Included in 2006´s special edition that also includes an extra disc with the 1993´s THX Laser Disc edition with that dubbing audio track. Included in the unspecialized edition 2.5.1. .mkv file.

I have separated these words from 2011´s BLU-Ray ANH dubbing edition and i pasted on the Castillian 1993´s THX Laser Disc castillan audio dubbing edition (NOT LATINO).

I craeted a new audio tarck solving both problems.

The link from Mega .mkv file includes:

Steps followed:

1.- Downloaded the .mkv file from Mega is discovered that the audio track “Castillan Stereo Surround” (NOT LATINO) is injured, has failures.

2.- With the HandBrake program, the MPEG-4p10 / AVC / h.264 1280X540 video with the “Castillan Stereo Surround” audio track (NOT LATINO) pasted as an .mp4 file has been extracted.

3.- With FinalCut Pro X this .mp4 file has been imported and using the external source of 2011´s Blu-Ray have been pasted in the audio patches that are required and exported in master (Video + Audio) to a .mov file

4.- The .mov file has been passed through the TotalVideoConverter and in order to create a new .mkv container with the castillan audio track fixed up inside it (NOT LATINO).

5.- Then, using the MKVToolNix-32.0.0 program, a new .mkv file was created in which the .mkv file that has been downloaded from MEGA (1.-) and the .mkv file that was created with the TotalVideoConverter (4.-) was imported. The first one has selected the content except for the audio track “Castillan Stereo Surround” (NOT LATINO) (which is the broken one), in addition to disabling the subtitles by default. The second one has discarded all the content except for the audio track “AAC” (which is the one that was fixed up, exported and converted (3 .- / 4.-))(NOT LATINO). This new “AAC” audio track has been modified with the same attributes as the “Castillan Stereo Surround” audio track and has been defaulted (NOT LATINO). Resulting in a container with all the tracks of the original .mkv file downloaded from Mega (1.-) and the audio track “fixed up” with the external source of 2011´s Blu-Ray edition inside (3.-)(NOT LATINO).

6.- Finally, the .mkv file is imported from HandBrake and exported as an .mp4 file that has the same characteristics and retains the same content as in the .mkv file created with MKVToolNix-32.0.0. The new fixed up track “Castillan Stereo Surround” is the default language (NOT LATINO) and subtitle tracks are deactivated by default too.

7.- This .mp4 file is ideal for sharing it on the net or burning it on any solid support, since it is universal and recognizable by any existing digital video device.

The following is included in the .mp4 file:

Video:
MPEG-4p10 / AVC / h.264 1280X540

Audio:
Eng 1977 35mm stereo mix
Eng 1977 Mono mix of 35mm

Please do not post direct links here. It’s against forum rules.

Oh, and I misread your initial post – the 2.5 Castilian track has a DIFFERENT problem which was fixed in 2.7 (Latino dialogue mixed in the trash compactor sequence). People have been complaining about that for ages, so I thought you were too.

This other dialogue problem sounds very different – it sounds like the THX Laserdisc and GOUT tracks contained either some badly-mixed audio or mispronunciations? Did any release prior to the GOUT contain the other pronunciations (early Laserdisc, VHS)? Just wondering if they re-recorded the lines for the Blu-ray. The Blu-ray isn’t usually a very good audio source because it doesn’t mix well with tracks from other sources, so if there’s a “good” recording from earlier, that would be best.

Okay, I can hear the first example “astrdes/astroandroides”, but I can’t hear the second one “planetata/planeta” – it sounds to me like Luke says “planeta” in both versions. I’m listening to the dialogue starting at about 49:02.391, is this the right place?

Yes, that´s the correct time code.

Luke (In Mega´s version) says “…No pienso volver jamás a este plane-neta…” instead of “…No pienso volver jamás a este planeta…”

I corrected it in muy .mp4 version:

Got it. I was listening for “neta-ta”, not “ne-neta”. I’ll give it another listen, thanks, and I’ll update the Castilian master copy that will presumably make it into the next Despecialized.

Okay, I heard the same problems and am making my changes now. There also appears to be a problem with the THX mix where there is cantina music tracked over the Luke/Ben conversation you were talking about (which doesn’t take place in or near the cantina). I’ll re-upload my collection and send you links if you’re interested, but it seems maybe you already have everything you need.

Although if you would send me your files or V2.7 .mkv file you make me so happy!

Anybody knows something about this edition? as where could we find a downloaded link or something like that?

Thanks everyone!
