Hilarious fan-site, but could it be a fake? (I'm guessing you know which one already...)

Sorry to kick a dead horse or anything because I'm guessing this has been discussed a lot here, but a friend recently sent me a link to this site: http://www.supershadow.com/, I'm sure most of you have seen it and I probably don't need to go into much detail about it.

But my question is, could this guy just be some fake character (Like "Stephen Colbert" for example), someone making fun of over-acting Star Wars nerds or is this person actually a real person? I personally believe that it's just some fake character, but that doesn't mean it's not hilarious. What are your thoughts or does someone have proof that he's real or fake?

The guy is an infamous personality malfunction and has been at it for years.

Some people have speculated that he is being satirical (trying to extort money out of people isn't my kind of humour) but then some people think Ann Coulter does what she does as a joke.

Yeah, Supershadow is full of crap. He has no affiliation with Lucas or Lucasfilm in any way shape or form. He's just a clown trying to getting attention.

Well, I know that he's not associated with Lucas in anyway, but I was just wondering if this guy was being serious about the whole site and not making the site for comedic reasons, sorta like a Star Wars "Christian Weston Chandler" or is he just some comedian satirizing Star Wars nerds?

I noticed there's a lot of religious comments on the site now - I think whoever is behind that page might well be a few cards short of a full deck, alas. It's quite a disturbing site the more you read on it. I hope he/she is alright.

The muppet Yoda, which ruined the old films, would never appear in subsequent Star Wars movies in more than a brief cameo role. The computer animated Yoda was the bright future of film making and Lucasfilm in general. Thankfully, the muppet Yoda is no more.

I like this guy.  He's funny!

Hes been around for many years, going back to ep. 1 pre release I believe.

I'm surpised hes still around.  He would post up fake interviews with Lucas and explain on his site how he helped write the prequels.  Eventually Lucasfilm had enough of him and told him he had to put a disclaimer on this site that it was all fake.  So somewhere on his site there is a disclaimer that this is a website "for fun", or somthing like that.

I believe this guy is taking his fantasy life and putting on the internet for all to see.  I think alot of people fantasize what it would be like to write the prequels or how they would continue the franchise but this guy is literally posting all this on a website.  He probably does have a few mental issues, which is sad.

edit: I just clicked on his site on a whim and hes gotten worse, mentally.  His posts are starting to not make sense at all.  I hope he gets help.

He was only right about ROTS once the novelisation was published, up until then he was as off as he was always been.

He kept publishing rumours posted on the webs as exclusives (even when they were inaccurate) and backpeddled when he was wrong claiming he managed to talk Lucas out of it under request from the fans of Supershadow (which probably only exist in his head).

I still have people ask me what I know about Episodes VII-IX, they saw "something on a website..." And it is invariably this site.

Crazy person, who lives for people to believe him, no more, no less.

Wow, this is just sad (especially considering there are people who might read this and take it seriously):

Lucas had less than $ 1 (one) million U.S. dollars to hire a film director for The Empire Strikes Back. The first choices Lucas wanted to direct The Empire Strikes Back turned Lucas down instantly because they weren't willing to direct The Empire Strikes Back for a tiny, tiny paltry salary.

Lucas didn't hire Irvin Kershner (Kersh) to direct The Empire Strikes Back because Lucas wanted it to be so. Lucas basically had no choice. Unfortunately, Lucas could either hire the very, very extremely economically cheap Kersh to direct The Empire Strikes Back or Lucas would have to direct the sequel to A New Hope himself.

Since filming A New Hope was a nightmare experience for Lucas, Lucas couldn't convince himself to direct again. The results were nearly catastrophic for Star Wars. Kersh's utter incompetence resulted in The Empire Strikes Back earning less than HALF the stellar unlimited box office gross in multiplexes of A New Hope.

In the end, the worst mistake Lucas has so far made in life is deciding NOT to direct The Empire Strikes Back himself. After the dreadful and disappointing results of The Empire Strikes Back, Lucas wrote and directed each movie episode of the Star Wars prequel trilogy in order to give Star Wars fans the genius vision of master film maker Lucas that they deserve.

This guy is so full of shit its funny but pretty scary at the same time as he is being serious.

A few years ago i got in an argument with this guy over the crap he puts on his site. It all started off when i contacted him saying that i thought his site was really funny and was a great spoof star wars site like the onion is to news. My god did he fire at me with both barrels. He kept spouting off that he was a Lucasfilm insider and how he influenced George on the prequels. He's just insane. So i decided to have a little fun with him. A few months later, as i was almost finished with ANH:R i contacted him again saying that i was an ILM employee that was working on the new top secret Special edition version of ANH and that i could provide him with proof as i have secretly managed to copy some of the digital footage that will be inserted into the movie and could let him see the workprint version of the movie that would be getting a new theatrical release a year later. He said i was a liar until i sent him some footage. It was the new TIE fighter entrance in the battle of Yavin. I put a lucasfilm logo in the corner and a time code and some fake official looking coding. He wanted all the info about this new version. \but i replied to him saying that i had been reading more of his site and i didn't realise how close he was to George Lucas and that i couldn't afford to lose my job. He then replied saying that he would never reveal his sources and that he has never even met George Lucas and that he only says that to give some official clout to his articles. i left it at that but got emails off him almost every day so i had to block his email address. He even offered to trade me for a copy of the episode 7 rought draft script personally penned by GL. what a joke.

Got him big time.

Ye gods, I didn’t realize the whole thing lasted that long! Dedication to the ruse, or utter madness? There ought to be a Supershadow movie someday. Or a documentary where he’s finally interviewed.

Then again, what if someone made a fan film based on his ideas?

I’ll always wonder if George was pissed about the whole thing.
