Is there anyway I can get a dvd copy of this
Please let me know.
ThankYou

PM the creator

Is this the wide-screen version with updated effects? I’ve lost track. I tried watching my vhs version of slv but the picture gave out half way through so I watched my dvd of the directors edition. They both have their merits!

At a local thrift store I found a tape of the SLV that was still in the shrinkwrap and had an intact Paramount logo seal, so it’s never been played. I’m not sure if it could be of any help, and I’m not good at making captures, but if anyone would like it as a source, I could certainly try to cap it.

I’m not involved with the HD project, but I’d be pretty happy to have a digital version of the regular SLV just in general. I bought a VHS copy of it on eBay long ago, and I still keep it around, but it’s so annoying to have to get the VCR all hooked up just for that one movie.

Hi, I am a new member and just found about this.
I do understand that this item is not for sale.
However, I would like a copy of the Star Trek-The Motion Picture
3 disc DVD Mega Set since it is the complete 2 hour 26 minutes
version created by FanFiltration. How can I obtain it?
Please let me know at your convenience. Thanks!
Btw, I have the VHS ST-TMP Special Longer Version release
(transferred to DVD) in Full Screen (from 1983, out of print),
the studio DVD release of the original 131 minute Theatrical Version
(which does not include the VHS 12 extra minutes of footage) in Widescreen,
and the studio DVD release of the Director’s Edition which includes the
added/deleted scenes (theatrical and Extended TV Versions) as Special Features.
Neither of these official DVD releases have the full 2 hr. 25 minute version.
Why Paramount didn’t just go ahead and release the Special Longer Version on
DVD since they also released it on VHS first as opposed later to the edited
Theatrical release makes absolutely no sense to me. At least they did do a
Director’s Edition where the Added/Deleted Scenes were actually included
separately which I guess is better than nothing. At any rate, I would be
very interested in seeing your “preservation” version as I’m quite certain
that from the description of it and the responding posts from ST fans it
sounds to me like a labor of love. Thanks for reading and I look forward
to your reply hopefully in the near future. Oh–I am in the U.S.
And sorry about the length. I like to be thorough and share info. 😃

Just involved in a conversation on the TMP appreciation Facebook group about the different versions out there. Is it the intention for the HD SLV edit to include the completed Airlock effects that I’ve seen on YouTube and to correct the helmet of Kirk’s uniform when he retrieves Spock?

Hi, excuse me, I don’t want appear odd (you can tell me that if someone find me so), nevertheless I registered on this forum after being captured from what says this topic.
I hope not to being embarassing if I would ask the topic creator user how could I get a physical/digital copy of the above indicated Special Longer Version, of which I sometimes wishes could have a copy viewable on a PC.
I would really appreciate to know how.
Thank you and Regards.

Hey, I wouldn’t mind a link to this, as I’ve never seen the 1983 Special, only the theatrical and DC releases

And I still have the German SLV on VHS, of which I’ve wanted to digitize the audiotrack for some time now. If you could have any use for it, let me know. 😃

I also have that one, though the german dub of the SLV is horrible, as they used different voice actors for the extra scenes.

Hey all, i also am pretty new to this page and i am curious, where can i get that SLV of TMP?
I still have the VHS from the 90s and it bugs me that Paramount never really went for it and released a Blu Ray Set that feature the Theatrical, SLV and Directors Cuts.

Yeah it would be so cool to have this ready for the 40th Anniversary. I’ve ordered my QMX 1/6 scale Scotty. Hopefully I’ll be surrounded by my tiny crew by the time the anniversary arrives.

Ooooooh, that’s amazing, FanFiltration!

I’ve been watching the heck out of your original SLV Widescreen edition. It is (by far) my favorite version of TMP. An upgraded HD version would be absolutely amazing. 😄

Looking forward to the finished result!

Is there anything I can do to help? My computer ain’t exactly top-of-the-line, but I’m very passionate about this project being completed.

Managed to get my VCR going again and had another watch of the SLV. It doesn’t drag at all for me. Even Kirk’s mysterious mighty morphing space suit is only one brief head shot before Spock floats back. Not insurmountable.

I like the background technobabble and computer voice but I think the voices are just a fraction too loud in most scenes. They compete too much with the main dialogue.

I wish Grace Lee Whitney had been present on the bridge for a bit in the second half of the movie. Even a couple of reaction shots during the V’Ger flyover would have elevated her appearance to be more noticeable. It’s also a shame she doesn’t come onto the bridge with Scotty and Chapel in the final scene. It would have been nice if they had all been present on the bridge at the same time.

I think a hybrid version of the DE is probably going to be the absolute pinnacle but I do love this version.

Dammit. It was only a matter of time before Paramount figured out how to make some money off the project.

I hope this project can still continues. MY VHS copy of the 1983 Longer Version is pretty old, and I would LVOE to have a digital copy to keep with me.
