Basically don’t act like a weirdo in the airport (or like a normal person) because air marshals may be following you and documenting everything you do in hopes of discovering you’re up to no good.

That does seem concerning.

Of course the side of it is that the stakes are high. We don’t want bad people to be able to hijack planes and ram them into who knows what and kill who knows how many people.

Just as good an excuse to follow random people around anywhere and document everything they do…just in case they murder, rape, or rob.

Seems a really inefficient and ineffective way of spotting wrongdoers.

It’s not like they already don’t have a touchy-feely TSA, extensive baggage screening, and other security measures in place. Look at the behaviors the air marshals are supposed to be tracking. It’s total nonsense.

For years now it’s been reported - here and here for example - that the air marshals are a waste of money. I think this program has been an attempt to justify the cost. Really it only emphasizes what a fruitless program it is.

So, they’re basically playing a high stakes game of Spot the Looney? Everyone is a bit looney after waiting in line at the airport. Travel is stressful.

*sigh* that is not what I meant. I also want to remind you that that there is more at stake than a just robbery or rape or murder. May I remind you that one of the planes hit the pentagon on 911 and that both the white house and capital were evacuated that day? For all we know the forth plane was either headed for the white house or capital. We are talking national security here.

Seems a really inefficient and ineffective way of spotting wrongdoers.

Probably is.

you mean this stuff?

  1. SUBJECT WAS ABNORMALLY AWARE OF SURROUNDINGS
(If observed, check any that apply below) | Y N Unknown

Reversing or changing directions and/or stopping while in transit through the airport

Attempting to change appearance by changing clothes, shaving etc. while in the airport or on the plane

Using the reflection in storefront windows to identify surveillance

Observing the boarding gate area from afar

Boarded last

Observing other people who appear to be observing FAM team and/or subject

  1. SUBJECT EXHIBITED BEHAVIORAL INDICATORS
(If observed, check any that apply below) | Y N Unknown

  2. SUBJECT’S APPEARANCE WAS DIFFERENT FROM INFORMATION PROVIDED
(If yes, check any that apply below) | Y N Unknown

  3. SUBJECT SLEPT DURING THE FLIGHT
(If observed, check any that apply below) | Y N Unknown

  4. GENERAL OBSERVATIONS
(Provide detailed descriptions of any electronic devices in subject’s possession in AAR) | Y N Unknown

  5. FOR DOMESTIC ARRIVALS ONLY
(If possible, provide identifiers (license plate, vehicle description) of pick up vehicle in AAR) | Y N Unknown

I am not saying that they should be doing what they are doing, but I would not necessarily categorize all of the above as totally nonsense.

That’s never going to happen again because hijacked planes won’t be allowed to fly into cities anymore before getting shot down. Keeping dangerous people out of the cockpit is what really matters in airplanes these days. Airport security is a joke and it’s draconian measures aren’t keeping any of us safe.

Opponent Accuses Virginia GOP Candidate of Being a ‘Bigfoot Erotica’ Devotee

I’d just like to point out that the name of the accuser is Cockburn.

A congressional race in Virginia’s Fifth District has taken a bizarre twist as Democratic candidate Leslie Cockburn accused her Republican opponent, Denver Riggleman, of being a devotee of “Bigfoot erotica” over the weekend.

Not to mention the name of the accused is Denver Riggleman. That race has all the names.

‘There’s more to me than being a denier of the Holocaust,’ says GOP nominee for Congress

I assumed this shitbag was running for the nomination, but nope, he won.

Probably what the regulation demands and it makes sense in the abstract but it is unnecessary.

What shouldn’t be classified as dairy is anything skim or fat free.

well, there are certainly quite a number of people who are food illiterate, and who might consider drinking any milk to be healthy. I saw someone call a pigeon an owl once, so …

There is a similar issue with us producers selling infant “formula” overseas that isn’t really formula, and that unfortunately doesn’t provide all the nutrients a child needs, which is tragic, and quite a sin for those marketing it in a confusing way.

not directly related, but part of why it is important to regulate labels.

If a country can accept cars running on “gas”, they can accept almonds producing “milk” 😉.

CNN had a story about it tonight as well. Smells like a massive trolling operation. These loons are going to get into some awkward conversations if they run into some TNG fans. 😉

I agree it smells of trolling to me as well. Perhaps the instigator is a TNG fan themselves?

I’m getting really sick of the people that claim that the people in America that violently protest or attack alt-right and neo-Nazis are “just as bad” as the people they’re attacking. That’s ridiculous. Beating the shit out of a Nazi doesn’t make you just as bad as a Nazi. I don’t condone political violence in America, but people like Antifa aren’t “just as bad” as the people they’re opposed to.

Trump is back to rally time. He wants to hold them 5-6 times a week for the next few months.

I truly hope our next president (and the one after that, etc) aren’t demagogues.

At this point, I’m surprised nobody has put up an electronic billboard with a running tally of how much of our tax dollars have been spent every time he goes away for the weekend or to one of these ego stroking fests.

I’m usually against the state using violent force to punish thought crimes, but I think we should implement the death penalty on everyone that believes in this QAnon bullshit.
