MagnoliaFan’s edit of AOTC set up the Sepratists as the proto-rebellion, but there never was an Ep3 edit and I don’t think the idea carries over.
It’s a shame their edits are dead over on .info.
Glad he is doing well.
I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.

I’m probably really late to the party with this, but I didn’t see Batman Vs. Superman until recently.
Where were you in '77?
LOL, I didn’t even catch that.
And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.
My eyeballs had glazed over by that part in the film.
I’ve been watching Episode I a lot lately. It’s suprising how sloppy this film is, not just the writing and acting but everything. The lighting, framing, sets and costumes, background action, blocking, editing. This film cost $120 million, many scenes look like they were made for TV.
There’s only one genuinely good performace in this film and thats Pernilla August as Shmi Skywalker.

+1
Edit: well also Silas Carson as the Nemoidians, but that goes without saying.

No love for Ralph Brown as Ric? 😉
I think Lucas took his pre-Empire aesthetic idea a bit too far in that everything was so shiny and clean. Even Tatooine. It’s too far away from the lived-in universe of the OT. There can be rusty spaceships and grungy planets no matter who’s running the galaxy.
Where were you in '77?
Tatooine didn’t look too bad in Episode I, I didn’t think.
The Person in Question
“No need to report that till we have something to report” is probably the worst line in the film, and read so awkwardly.
“Hey George this doesn’t sound right. How about ‘We’ll tell him when we have some good news’ or something”
“No. next line”
The thing I hate about Tatooine in Episode I is the ‘extended sets’. Like, all the floating stuff and bad looking buildings in the background.
They went through all the effort of building a set and hiring extras only to clutter it with CG ships and banthas.

I feel like this is a stupid question, but did audiences know that padme was Amidala?
I know they were promoted as seperate characters but surely people knew that they were played by the same actor.
Edit: Thinking about it more. The film doesn’t tell or show that Padme is Amidala until the reveal, but plenty of scenes and dialogues play out as if the audience knows.
“Padme is Amidala” was spoiled for me long before I watched the movie, so I haven’t a clue how audiences initially gauged the character.
What perplexes me is how characters in-universe don’t realize they’re one and the same, seeing as AOTC (stupidly) revealed “Padme” as her real name rather than an alias.
I think this particular Padme doll hit toy shelves ahead of the movie as well. Toy aisles have no spoiler alerts.

On that note, did people (who hadn’t read the books… The name “Palpatine” wasn’t in the OT movies but it was in the books) know that Palpatine was the emperor before episode 3? I didn’t at first. And I only figured it out by looking at the back of the boxes and noticing it was the same actor that was in Rotj.
Yes I know it’s extremely obvious but I was a wee lad.

Also known as Mr. Liquid Jungle.
You’re gonna need to explain what/why that is or get out of my thread.

😃 That must have been a kicker for those unlucky enough to have come across that and similar others - also for it’s bad quality / scary looking death doll features too - especially on the ‘Unmask the Queen’ pics!
A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Wondering if anyone caught ANH at their local symphony. Quite an experience watching the movie sans-film score while the symphony plays it live!!

I did but it was a few months back. Great experience.

The back of the TPM VHS sleeve said that Senator Palpatine was the Emperor.

it also seems to support the whole Jar Jar is a sith lord theory, with the placement of the picture, and him seeming to be lurking in the shadows. haha 😃
