damn work laptop decides to not boot when i bring it home for a late night upgrade project tomorrow… (i have had this laptop for over 7 years, this is the first time it has done this to me)

damn zalman vcd enclosure won’t load my win 7 iso (I/O error??), it loads my win 10 iso’s just fine, but i don’t want to reinstall, i just need to attempt a repair…

sometimes i really hate technology…

Just before you attempt that mate… and it’s just a suggestion that you may have already tried… turn the
laptop off, remove the battery from the laptop, unplug the power. Now hold down the power button for 30 seconds. Put the battery back in, plug in the power and turn it on - hopefully it may now work (or be of use if ever happen again in the future).

Good luck with it.

Yes, that is good advice, it has helped me and others in the past.

Thankfully this fixed it, or I would have been really grumpy today.

Someone I went to grad school with died this week, I happened to see post by his wife on Facebook. Didn’t know he was sick.

The guy down the street is blairing his annoying loud music again. Apparently, it never occurred to him that other people might not want to listen to it.

You should go over to the house and threaten to call the cops. Happened to me once.

It did not. My bad.

Don’t make him deal with the cops, just throw something through his window.

What makes people think it’s a good idea to be naked in the gym locker room at work? Seeing people you know, especially coworkers, naked is especially uncomfortable. I really can’t wrap my mind around it.

Maybe because they’re changing? Do you work at a gym or something? I don’t know. I haven’t been in a locker room since I was about 14 so I have no idea.

Yep, changing. I don’t work at a gym. I don’t get the mindset of being comfortable being naked in front of people, especially people that you work with. At least put underwear on before leaving the shower stall…rather than standing there naked and talking to me about work while I admire the ceiling.

Just start spilling things like water, etc around the office, to establish that you are clumsy.

Then always carry a large, uncovered pot of steaming coffee anytime you enter the locker room. More advanced moves include talking with your hanfs (while holding the coffee)

I’ve seen 5 coworkers naked in my days at my current job. Led to a fun time every time, although one of those fun times ended up in a years long relationship that ended in a massive heartbreak for me amd her because of mental trauma she’s had before ever meeting me. Passing her at work where she just won’t talk to me at all when I still love her and my her own admittance didn’t do anything to deserve her just walking out on me out of nowhere sure is fine, I only mildly consider driving into an abandoned building on my way to work every single day.

Put underwear on before leaving the shower???

I really don’t get this. If you can’t bear seeing peers of your own sex naked, don’t go into locker rooms.

Yeah, I don’t understand. I don’t like seeing people naked either because 99.99% of people are hideous, but it’s a locker room. Why are you even in the locker room? I would assume that not caring about nudity has a lot to do with not caring about what other people think, which is how I feel. I don’t give a fuck what people think about my appearance. I guess either abandon your prudishness or never go into a locker room ever again.

What about bears of your own sex? They walk around naked all the time. Would it kill them to put a towel on?

Author

As long as they aren’t actresses, I’m not offended.

The Person in Question

Just because it’s a “locker room” doesn’t mean it’s comfortable. The naked people need to change, not me.

Actually, no. You don’t need to go into a locker room at all. Don’t go somewhere that’s served the function of being a changing/shower room forever and demand that everyone else inconvenience themselves based on your neurotic puritanism.

The Person in Question

Author

I don’t get people comfortable being naked with others. Most people aren’t nudists but I don’t think that makes them neurotic puritans.

So admire their nakedness. You’ll make them uncomfortable and they’ll stop…or maybe you’ll get a date.
