I received mine and watched it. Great video quality and editing job. Thanks to HAL 9000 for sending me one and thanks Darth Editous for making it.

For those still wanting a copy, the first 3 people to PM me there address (USA Only, sorry) will definetly get a copy (NTSC). I may send out a few more. I will let those know via this thread who is getting one. I can't send them out till Tuesday (my day off).

Please don't take offense, but I'd strongly advise against doing that. It would result in an inferior disc than a copy of the DE-ANH20050525P PAL disc - the video will have 1/4 less vertical resolution and it will have to be re-encoded (and the original encoding took 15 hours on a 3GHz P4 so it's high quality). The audio will have to be resampled and re-encoded too, and will probably be downmixed to stereo unless you have some very nice software.

Hi, I've just been lurking around the site for the past few days and am amazed by how much darth editous has done to correct and de-specialize the blunders in these newer versions. It looks excellent and the feedback has me wanting this so badly. So I dusted off this old account I created several months ago to do a bit of begging. Here we go...

I live in the bronx, NY. Could anyone who can send me a copy PM me with instructions on what you'll need from me to do so?

Thanks, and thank all of you who are so diligently cleaning up LFL's mistakes and putting back together the trilogy Lucas seems to only want to destroy with each new edition. You guys are our only hope...

I agree, I would just make a NTSC unless oojason wants a PAL version which Davidian is willing to do for him. Let me know which oojason. No offense at all, we want the best quality possible.

There is an error in my DVD, it will play fine but when I try to record it it says there is an error and trys to go past it and when it is done recording none of my DVD players will play the whole thing. I tried 8 times and none of the 8 DVDRs will play correctly. I tried Nero and DVD Shrink and none worked. Sorry I cant help anyone out. Maybe someone with a good DVD can help out these guys:
Cyberdave
Darth Simon
TheSessler
BountyHunter

Are you copying from disc to disc or have you ripped it to hard drive first? It's unencrypted so you should be able to copy the VIDEO_TS folder to your hard drive then drag it into a Nero DVD-Video project.

I tried both ways and it still would not work. I even went to a buddies house and tried his computer thinking mine was messed up and his said there was an error to. Thats odd because the DVD will play fine on all mine and his DVD players.

That's all very mystifying... I would have thought that even if there were some erroneous bytes, Nero (or whatever) would just burn the disc anyway. Anyone else had this kind of trouble?

Yes, I believe Darth Editous encoded both NTSC and PAL versions straight from the source.

Nero would just burn it anyway but when I play the burned copy of all 8 DVDRs they would mess up at the same place near the end of the movie. The image would freeze and skip past parts of the movie. I know it is just that DVD because I burned several other DVDs and they work fine. Oh well, as long as it plays. Just sorry I could not help any one else with a copy.

PM or e-mail me your address info and I'll get a copy out to you ASAP (as promised) if you don't already have one by now.

BIG BIG THANKS to Hal9000 for sending me my copy, and (of course) congrats to Darth Editous for taking the initiative to correct the things that Lowry Digital and Lucasfilm employees were being paid big bucks to correct. Hopefully Lucas will get a copy and send you a check. It really is brilliant work you've done, mate! Cheers!

Editous, I'm serious when I say Lucasfilm should hire you.
And they should hire me as a charcter designer/script doctor.

Allright, I'll be sending 6 NTSC copies on the U.S. side out by Monday to those who have PM'd or e-mailed me. Those people can hopefully take it from there and help others out who need a copy.

Really, Darth Editous... It IS the definitive version of ANH.

Tarkin's stray hairs ALWAYS distracted from the action.

Good luck on the "business hammock".

Scanned through to see all the changes a couple of days ago, great work DE, the effects fixes really improve the film!
