The Last Jedi: Official Review and Opinions Thread ** SPOILERS ** — Page 231

The Director and the Jedi is an excellent documentary. It’s not as great as Empire of Dreams, but it’s an excellent look at the scale of the production. Instead of the usual interviews playing over behind the scenes clips, we get extensive footage of the daily operations. Incredibly interesting for fans of TLJ and movie making in general.

Ooh, yeah, I’m excited for that. I really wish something like that had been done for TFA…

Nothing like that even for the TFA Collectors Edition release? A shame that, if not.

Am hoping they release a Big Sleeve edition of TLJ - as they did for TFA & Rogue One…

I’ve still got the 4K Blu-Ray preordered, but I’m snowed in today so I figured screw it, the digital version only costs about as much as dinner and a drink at a restaurant and I’ve got a long day of nothing ahead of me, so I went ahead and watched it. Seeing it alone in my home without any sort of audience reactions reeeeaaaaaaally went a long way in making it feel more integrated into the rest of the series, and a lot of the things that bothered me in the theater don’t nearly so much when they aren’t projected 30 feet high (looking at you, BB-8 operating an AT-ST). I went for the 1080p version so I’d still have reason to be excited for the UHD disc in a couple weeks and I’m not going to watch it again until then, so I guess I’ll be back with my verdict on the HDR presentation on the 27th.

ah man, i need to pre-order my disc!

i was gonna get the steelbook from best buy to match the rest of my new movies, but they are only shipping the 4K disc, the 1080p you need to pickup in store, and none of the local stores have it? what the heck! must be pushing that 4K disc pretty hard. Maybe i’ll shell out the extra bucks so that i can have it delivered 😄

I ordered the blu-ray version for home delivery, but I did it back in December. I might cancel and upgrade to future proof, but I shot my Star Wars budget on Figuarts Last Jedi Luke and Figuarts Chewbacca.

It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher

Having seen The Last Jedi for the second time after not being sure if I liked it or not for the first time, I hate to say that I do not like this film. Seeing it again just showed its problems more and while I really wanted to like these, I have to say the ST isn’t for me, just like the prequels. While it has its moments that actually are pretty good, there are stuff that are cringeworthy, even PT level. Meh. Of course I’ll go see Episode IX but I couldn’t care less what happens, they could all just die and it wouldn’t matter one bit.

And in the time of greatest despair, there shall come a savior, and he shall be known as the Son of the Suns.

It’s not enough to not like it, you must sign a petition begging Disney to wipe it from canon to prove your zeal!!

Just like it is apparently not enough to like it, you must make tired jokes about a stupid petition to prove your zeal…

So I only have my lazy self to blame huh… That’s not surprising.

I went for the 3D version just for the cover art since it was the best version of the red/white poster composite.

The deleted scenes have started showing up online on places like twitter. The Ach-to party should have been left in the final cut.

I wonder how the petition creator feels about our jokes.

Actually I’m pretty sure I know how he feels about it.

So, it’s impossible for the creator of a petition to just take it down?

I dunno if it’s impossible, but it seems like he’d rather not bother with it.

Screw digital only exclusives. Do the people that shun physical media really care about such extras?
