no, the punctuation is just fine. i just read the thing 4 times.
Proper punctuation?
No mate, the punctuation is fine.
Look again.
Still fine, mate.
First sentence.
Wow, took me a couple seconds, but it ain’t that hard. Punctuation’s fine.
“Ow! It`s hot in here, the butter in my pocket is melting!”
no, the punctuation is just fine. i just read the thing 4 times.
Shouldn’t there be a question mark somewhere?
JEDIT: Those first two lines must not end with a period, but a comma.
there’s only one sentence my friend.
edit: those are commas
That’s what I said.

He’s right it is fine.
Or maybe not?
The sentence in the original question ends with a subordinate clause that does not, by itself, ask a question (“within which we can leverage our existing knowledge”). This is modifying a noun phrase that is part of the question (“set of simple computational rules”). Therefore, this subordinate clause is part of the original question, and should end with a question mark.
Putting all of this together, I would punctuate the sentence like this:
“The question nagging me is, To what extent can we encapsulate all what we observe in nature into a set of simple computational rules, within which we can leverage our existing knowledge?”

I’m not sure why everybody has such strong feelings about the punctuation on that sign.

It’s like a statement is being made.

No issue about a question mark. I thought semicolons would be better, but maybe doesn’t matter.
The blue elephant in the room.
My only question is, in what situation does “what” have 9 letters?

Have you even seen the ending of Sleepaway Camp?
Yeah but they were asking about never.
My only question is, in what situation does “what” have 9 letters?
“sometimes”
Apparently it’s not asking anything, just stating that “what” has four letters, “sometimes” has nine, and “never” has five. Little bit of a disappointment.
JEDIT: Ninja’d.
Oh.
Yeah but they were asking about never.

Way to ruin it.

this forum in a nutshell
O God, this forum could be bounded in a nutshell and count itself the king of Internet space, were it not the stuff of bad dreams.
