Amazon seems to be selling RotJ "Theatrical Version" digitally

Anyone purchased this is it actually the special edition? Haven’t seen a retailer call out “Theatrical Version” since the limited editions. Only seems to be RotJ and the reviews seem to be for the steelbook releases.

Nice catch mate - seems someone at amazon has likely made a mistake there in the title description there…

$17 for a digital download of ROTJ? Seems a bit much that.

Quite lazy of amazon to put all their reviews together like that too - seems to be happening a lot on there these days - especially difficult when trying to get detailed/tech reviews (tv, laptops, blu ray players etc - the reviews are often for previous or similar models…

Been like this for awhile. We discussed awhile back in a doesn’t thread. Oddly, they list theatrical for Rogue One and TFA to, even though those films have only one cut.

Re: Jason. I don’t know why anyone buys digital movies. Catalog titles are almost always (and substantially) cheaper on disc, and new releases, though closer in price, almost always include a digital code with the disc.

Right there with you mate - the first thing I do when I buy / receive a disc (with or without the digital code) is to make a backup of it on the pc and then to an external hard drive for safe-keeping - I imagine there are a fair few of us who still do that (maybe more given the rise of media server / plex / kodi / chromecast set-ups of late…) 😃

There is a review from a Chinese guy who claims that it’s clearly the special special special edition. It would be nice if Amazon would hire people who actually know what they’re talking about
