Most Powerful Quote in all the Star Wars films.

I think for me, the most powerful quote is in Return of the Jedi, Luke says, "I am a Jedi like my father before me." That just blew me away. Very powerful in my opinion.
Rock. Nirvana. Awsomeness.

^^^ meh, the delivery on that one was pretty shabby. Plus, the line just seemed so cliche for some reason. I do agree with "I am a Jedi, like my father before me," as being a very powerful one. It always gives me that...hmm...what's the right word.... patriotic(?) feeling rising up from deep within. Inspiring to do great things or something.

As for my personal pick, I'd go with "Don't make me destroy you!" the delivery is great & powerful. Plus, Vader just totally owned Luke through the whole fight, toying with him along the way (if you know much about real sword combat, you can see many instances when Vader has a perfect shot to slice Luke into pieces, but either hesitates or intentionally swings wide b/c his goal is not to kill Luke, but to dominate him & strike fear into him, in hopes of turning him to the darkside too.) He's just rubbing salt in the wound at this point, essentially saying, "dude! i just totally owned your butt! give up already!" in a much more powerful and frightening way.

While I agree that the "liberty dies" quote isn't very well delivered, we are witnessing essentially the end of the Old Republic and how the birth of the empire was completed. And even worse how everyone did not even care/notice it was coming.

Though my personal favorite would have to be "that is why you fail." Topped off a very brilliant scene. Love the music especially.

Gentlemen, you can’t fight in here, this is the war room!

"Peeeeeyoooosaaaaaa" - Jar-Jar Binks deliberating after pensive/contemplative thoughts about gaseous exceretions. It strikes me on so many levels. After that I would say "yipppeee", by Anakin. Oh, Oh...best lines...wait, uh

I think the beginning of a New Hope after Vader makes his ominous entrance and says to Leia, "You Are Part of the Rebel Alliance and a Traitor! Take her Away!!" James Earl Jones voice, the breathing, that bad ass entrance. Too cool.

"You have failed me for the last time" --- Vader lines are cool, what can I say.

"I will never join you!!" Luke screams back while holding on with one arm out on the platform. His finest acting moment in the OT. Disturbed when he found out Darth is his father, his hand is gone and his life may soon be too if he doesn't decide to join the dark side.

16 years I wait and this is what I get???

"I AM YOUR FATHER!"
“Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.” — Nazi Reich Marshal Hermann Goering

"Beam me up, Scotty"

or something by R2D2 - you really cannot fault his acting or delivery, and he had no knowledge that he was going to be CGI'd with rocket boosters during the PT. Very underrated...

I'd have to go for 'I AM a Jedi, like my father before me'

"That is why you fail," by Yoda and "I am a Jedi, like my father before me," were both classic.

I also like Vader's line, "I find your lack of faith disturbing."

Germans used to line the streets and sing as Hitler passed. He was the most charismatic man the country had ever seen, and they worshipped the ground he walked on.

"luminous beings are we, not this crude matter."

gets me every time. although it's been shit upon a bit by the midichlorians. lucas will probably SE it to "luminous beings are we, with tiny microscopic googaws coursing through our crude matter."

(although greencapt has a pretty good one in "Directed by Irvin Kershner"...i'd add "Written by Lawrence Kasdan" to that list too)

"Mesa Jar-Jar Binks!"

No no ... Obviously, the line:

"No. I Am Your Father" is the most powerful line through out all of the Star Wars films.

Yoda: "Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter."

Luke: "All Right. I'll give it a try."

Yoda: "No! Try not. Do. Or do not. There is no try."

Luke: I dont ... I don't believe it"

Yoda: "That is why you fail."

I don't know, there are so many.
