Yeah, well they sure could have used some CGI at the end of the film. When they are standing outside of Wayne Manor, watch the background. Gotham is no where to be seen. What, is it an hour trip into the city for Batman?

CGI is for Star Wars not Batman

Wayne Manor is on top of a hill. You should atleast be able to see Gotham, a pseudo-NYC somewhere in the distance to make it plausible for him to get there in a moderate amount of time. Katie Holmes would have been dead if it was as far as that establishing shot would have made it.

Maybe it was hidden in smog

Thanks for the save there, Rikter. Well, BOTF should be done now. Time to watch MagnoliaFan's handiwork.

BOTF is completely done? What about a digital Yoda? Not part of the plan?

I know this was probably addressed before, but was the reverse echo problem fixed in the senate hall scenes?
Author

The technique you used seems especially unnatural in the senate scenes. The aliens' voice reversal doesn't jive with the reverb effects in the scene.

I believe someone brought this up once, and you said that you had recently fixed that problem, but I may be mistaken.

MagnoliaFan- awesome work! The podrace in Balance of the Force was especially incredible!

Does anyone know what music was used in that sequence? It didn't sound familiar to me. (not the famous SW fanfare, but the stuff before it).

The music in the first part of the podrace was from the "Shadows of the Empire" soundtrack (from the speeder bike chase level in the video game, if you really wanna know). I'm not so sure about the middle part though

Well, thanx to OOJASON i have seen Clone War (with BOTF on it's way i hope). I was very impressed with Dooku's yellow lightsaber effects. Bravo. It really puts a twist in things when you see him as an anti-hero figure instead of an out an out bad guy. Although i found it hard to belive an jedi rouge would want to create a Death Star to defeat the sith. It seems a bit drastic. I liked the dubing over of Jar Jar and Nute ect too. Damn, Jar Jar is one sarcastic b****** in this. ha

Hey MagnoliaFan,

I just wanted to make a humble request, just in case no one else has and you hadn't already considered it (not likely, but just in case).

Will you PLEASE remove the Tusken raider roar when Palpatine is reminding Anakin about how he flipped out on the sand people at the beginning of ROTS? Thanks.

So when can we expect MF's re-edit of ROTS to be finished and made available?

^ doh.

Was hoping that MagFan would've been tempted to do something with the bootleg Ep3 rips about the net. I must once again learn patience... :wink

I'm waiting on RotS until I have the deleted scenes. I've found that sometimes they can really end up reshaping the whole idea.

Of the OT, Empire is done except for three shots.
Jedi has some preliminary stuff done, but some of it has to wait until RotS hits dvd. I'm also still in dire need of some original edition shots in dvd quality.
I haven't really tackled much of the original yet.

The DVD+RDL of Clone War is nearing completion. The DL Balance will likely be the next thing I tackle.

Was one of the scenes you needed in DVD quality the spirit scene? The THX Demonstration DVD has a pretty good shot of it (aside from the bad color...). Here's a quick comparison with the X0 project's old screenshot:

Just figured I would drop a little info on the new version of Episode II: The Clone War.

The disc image, when released to Rik' will be about 8 gigs in size, as it is being done on DVD+R DL.
There will be a slightly reworked version of the original Clone War, an extended version (ala Lord of the Rings) including many deleted scenes, and a special feature to pick and choose certain elements (deleted scenes, original crawl, original ending, theatrical alien audio, etc) for inclusion while leaving out others.

A few of the changes in the normal film:

The crawl is slightly different again.

I swapped out Corde's dying words to, "My lady, so sorry..." from "My lady... I failed you senator". No real reason, just sort of on a whim.

Bail Organa's stressful times line went back in. Even though it still isn't necessary, that two seconds doesn't really kill the flow of the film.

Anakin's line "If you'll excuse me..." has been replaced with an alternate recording of the line.

There is now an airey, electronic song in the night club scene.

Syfo Dyas is out. His plot thread was left unresolved in the trilogy, so thusly I felt compelled to lose him. With the way it is cut now, those familiar with the original prequels will know instantly who ordered them when the Jedi's name is mentioned, while Obi-Wan does not. For first time viewers, on the other hand, it is clearly revealed who ordered the clones by the end of the film.

Anakin's dream is back in, though his audio has been removed. We hear the dream go on, while he tosses and turns. Liam Neeson, Jake Lloyd, and Pernillia August all have dialogue in it.

Shmi's death scene has been recut. I was never happy with the way it was cut before.

I'm still playing around with rescoring the arena battle.

Threepio now says, "Die Jedi! Wha~ What did I say?!" The "dogs" part has been cut.

Yoda's line, "Begun, the Clone War has..." has been changed to "Begun, this Clone War has..."

There's more little tweaks here and there, but I'm typing this off the top of my head....

Right now, the aliens all still speak backwards Spanish, French, etc... though mixed much better into the sound channels. For all the comments from the peanut gallery complaining about it, no one has yet to come up with anything that sounds anywhere near as good.

Also, there's an optional english-to-chinese-to-english subtitle track, ala "Episode III - Backstroke of the West".

You could create your own language instead of running existing ones backwards. or create your own gibberish and run THAT backwards. Maybe that'd be too time consuming, but considering how much effort you've been pouring into these things for running on 2 years now, taking the time to come up with a couple alien languages for a couple of lines can't be that much extra. it's not like you have to write a dictionary for the language once you're done.

The big problem I've found is not so much in the language.
I could easily have someone transcribe the phonetic words of the reversed spanish and when spoken back it would sound like a new language.
The problem is making it sound professional and not like some guys sat at their computer and recorded themselves.

Though I actually spend a lot less time on these than people think. It's not like I spend hours on end slaving away at these things. It's like 10 minutes here, an hour there, in my free time when I'm not working on something else or an idea pops into my head.
That's why the original Balance of the Force took over 2 years to finish. It actually took another year or so before it got leaked around enough that it was bootlegged at comic shows and ebay, at which point I let Rikter distribute it online.

Oh, btw Biz', you'll be pleased to know that you'll be able to watch CW with Dooku as a Sith if you're so inclined on the new disc. It's not that way in the movie proper, but its a selectable option in the special features.
