NJVC has talked about that before. He mentioned here that an alternative disc is at least doable and said here that it’s possible to do it yourself using a program called multiAVCHD.

You could also try PM’ing him to see if he already has something done.

Hi!

Are the “portuguese” subtitles from Brazil or European?

I put ESB on a BD 50 and WOW it looks fantastic with the menus, but on the extra - * All changes to The Empire Strikes Back since 1980 Comparison Video – 15 mins, it is really laggy anyone else notice this…?

Here is an unsolicited tip on pulling these down while saving some angst. I had a problem grabbing these from the free account, even with the Free Rapid download tool. If you don’t mind giving Mega.NZ a minimal amount of your cash, this is what I ended up doing:

  • Created a free account on Mega

  • Upgraded to a Pro account. This is the tip part of this: because I didn’t really like any of the options for payment (I don’t have a virtual credit card, Paypal can no longer be used to purchase Mega subscriptions, etc.), I purchased an Itunes gift card and added it to my Apple account. Then using the Mega iOS app, I purchased a recurring Pro membership (for me it was about $10 US per month). You really only need this for one month.

  • After this, you can import the individual folders (from the text file) into your own Mega account. I couldn’t figure out how to do this until I figured out you DON’T initiate this from your own dashboard - you load each individual folder URL (one for each of the six disks) in a web browser. On THAT page there is an option to import into another Mega account. Click on that to initiate the transfer into your own account.

  • I still had a hard time using the Rapid download manager against my own account - it would still give me unrecoverable errors after about ten or so files and I would have to manually kickstart them to get them going again.

  • Instead, I installed the official Mega Sync tool and synchronized each of the six folders to a folder on my hard drive. I got good through-put this way with no stalling problems.

  • Once you get all of the RAR files, run them through an MD5 checker and then follow the rest of the steps for converting to ISO and burning.

  • Don’t forget to cancel your Mega subscription. I’m sure I will forget.

Is anyone aware of any other artwork for discs and case-covers specific to the NJVC set other than what is posted in the original post of this thread?

Specifically, I’m looking for artwork to print on the “bonus” disc.

Han Shot. Period.

I don’t remember seeing any. But you could always try messaging members here for versions of their designs with excess text taken off so you can add your own “Bonus Features” text.

Or https://fanart.tv/ has a lot of high-res images you could use to make your own.

a request for some assistance with Despecialized from Harmy…

Harmy said:

Guys - I could use some help - I remember some time ago, someone was working on a shotlist for the SW movies and I can’t find it. But what I’d really need is someone helping me catalogue all the shots that need despecializing and making a system that will make it easier for me to keep track of the shots and what they need done.
My idea is this table, where I could keep track of the progress on all the shots:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1NwFnvrRp3CnyDOdr9W1__8PLBGwH8WOKkl8mjke8LQs/edit?usp=sharing

So, would I find volunteers, who would help me by going through Doubleofive’s galleries and putting all the shots down in this table and looking them up in GOUT and BD and putting in the timecodes?

When this is done and I start working on v3.0, the plan is to keep the table public, so you guys can check on my progress and every once in a while, when all shots in a sequence have status Pending Final, I want to post the sequence as a work-print and only after I get positive feedback on it, I will mark the shots as final.

This will make you guys more involved again, like in the old times, and it should help keep me more motivated. 😃

Please send him a PM if you can help…

Why does that website give an “unsafe” warning when you try to go to it? Looks like something to do with “HTTPS”?

They do have a bunch of Star Wars disc art on there. Though not sure if the image is larger than the white area on the Digistor discs I have. As I wouldn’t want there being a white border on the inside or outside of the disc.

I have a question. There’s a PDF that comes with the artwork for the NJVC set for inserts (not covers) that have the subtitle, special feature, audio languages, chapters lists, etc. I’m assuming these are little foldover booklets that go inside the case where the discs are. But they don’t seem to be sized for the correct dimensions for a Bluray insert. Are they? What are the physical dimensions of a Bluray insert (again, not cover)?

Just got my blank BDRs today in the mail (from Japan, HTL, BD50, ink-jet printable) so I started burning my ISOs with ImgBurn as directed. It went through Star Wars just fine and I tested it and it works great. I started burning ESB and I get an error half way through saying:

“Failed to Write Sectors 10171008 - 10171039 - Reason: Invalid Field in CDB”

Doing a bit of research I discovered this means the burner and the ISO basically have a difference of opinion on the ISO size or something. Is this just a bum burn/disc? Will this happen again? I only ordered 5 discs and I need at least 4 for the 4 BD50 ISOs provided in this 6 ISO collection. If I try again with another disc will the same error occur? I guess my real question is, is it something wrong with the ISO or the disc I was using?

EDIT: Well, shoot. Just tried skipping over ESB and burning ROTJ and the same error occurred. Now that’s two bum discs. Are errors really this common? My first burn went so well…

I think I had the dimensions off. I did some tinkering and came up with a size that fits perfectly with the proper aspect ratio. It’s about 145mm x 223mm (and then folded in half).

When I experienced the same issue, I changed the write speed to 2x and did not have any further problems. Are you using Imgburn?

Author
Time

Yes, ImgBurn. And I was already burning at 2x. It’s the slowest speed these discs support actually. I tried burning at 1x and it reminded me that these discs were 2x only.

Are there any disc labels for this set for the special features discs in the same style? I’ve just realized that once I burn all 6 discs I need something to print onto the features discs…

Do you have a link to the discs that you bought?

I’m not sure I know what PDF you are describing. Without posting a direct link, can you point me to where you found the artwork in question?

I bought a 20 discount spindle of the same thing and had no issues with x1 in ImgBurn. Could be a burner issue, but that’s just a guess.

Holy cow. Somehow I didn’t download them all. I see that there ARE indeed labels for the documentary discs. Please ignore my request lol. (I was referring to the artwork links in the OP)
