Thanks Harmy!
Thanks Harmy!
Hello, I’ve recently downloaded the 2 parts to despecialized edition of episode 4. I’m trying to play them in VLC. The first one plays up to around the 1 hour 34 minute mark. The second part doesn’t play at all. Is there anything I’m doing wrong? Thanks!
Where did you get these from? I don’t know of any official format for Harmy’s work which is available in exactly 2 parts. As far as I am aware, whether in MKV, AVCHD or DVD5 format, they either come as a single file (torrent or download) or as a multi-part download (approx. 15-50 parts depending on the size).
Check the “ultimate introductory guide” in the first post of this thread for details.
Bluto
Are the files you downloaded rar files? If so, you need to use WinRar or 7zip to unpack those - it is described in detail in the guide in section 3: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yLsvexWBVM8IYSGopKuSfsGk5YIgCwQWd23bqb5ryD4/pub#h.iezr5fw0n6vp
I got them from ulozto.net, and I did extract them with 7zip, but it’s still 2 files with the exact same name. The first part plays fine up to around 1:34.00, but the 2nd part doesn’t play at all.
Wait did you unpack ALL of them? You know you should unpack just the first file, right?
So if I unpack just the first, the file will be whole?
EDIT: Nevermind, I got it to work. Thank you!
You’re welcome, glad it worked.
Harmy, I was trying to find a way to download this amazing piece of work, and someone on youtube is burning these to blu rays and charging $45 for them. *** https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwIbM_uS8aA&t=71s
Yep, everyone here is well aware of that site. Unfortunately, there isn’t a lot anyone can do about it, other than to point out to new users that *** is run by greedy a scumbag who doesn’t care about scamming people, profitting off others non-for-profit work, and endangering the entire availability of the OOT.

Personally, as just a member here, I’d encourage everyone to downvote that video.
If it puts anyone off buying from them it’ll be worth it.
And also carry on reporting any Despecialized items they see for sale on ebay too.

Thank god he commented. It’s been a damn war zone in that comment section. And if he talks shit directly to Harmy, he’s a bigger ass than we even thought.
Yeah - I didn’t know he had a youtube channel.
I find it ironic that someone selling Despecialized doesn’t even have the basic video editing skills to make their widescreen HD video actually widescreen or HD.
All you need to sell it is a computer and a lack of morals.

He actually bought his domain via a website that assures total anonymity for their clients (domainsbyproxy.com in this case) unless someone files a complaint (which you can do if you go on their website).
His servers are hosted by GoDaddy, which is a fairly known web hoster, although if you want to do something about it Domains By Proxy is the way to go to file a complaint.
This info is really easy to get btw, I’m not sure if I’m allowed to post more info than what I already posted (like the owner’s domainsbyproxy email address, among other things) but you can easily find it if you use the GoDaddy WHOIS feature on their website and just type *** in the search bar.
Harmy, did you remove your comment? Because it’s not there anymore. The only other explanation would be that he removed it which would make him an even BIGGER a-hole!

Wow. It is gone. I seriously doubt Harmy deleted it.
I can still see it.
I can still see it.
Probably because you’re the author. I saw it before, and it’s definitely not there now.
I don’t know how YouTube comments work (much as I don’t know how sausage is made, because I don’t want to), but using the term “a-hole” probably gave him all the leeway he needed, if he needed any, to remove it. He just argues with everyone else.

He already answered in a very rude way to another guy in the comment section (this was before Harmy commented) and tried to justify himself.
btw there is a “Hide this user’s comments on this channel” feature that can be used, and he 100% used it because you can still see your comment if it’s yours, but the others can’t.
Harmy, if you try to check your comment when you’re not logged in, you probably won’t see it either
so yeah he didn’t like it

By the way, I was able to download “Star Wars” successfully from the site Ulzo.to.net, but ESB and ROTJ downloaded differently. Where when I extracted for Star Wars it came out as “mt2s” file and worked well with VLC. But ESB came out as “ESB_DESPECIALIZED_v2.0_AVCHD.iso” and I was unable to extract it. And ROTJ came out as “ROTJ_DESPECIALIZED_v2.0_AVCHD.iso”. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m using a mac. But programs that I’m trying to use just aren’t converting it/extracting the files. So any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

What is your goal? To burn to disc or to just watch on your computer? If you’re trying to burn to disc, you’ll need dual layer dvds and those .iso files cal just be written directly onto the disc through disc utility.
If you’re looking to just watch from a video file, you’ll want to track down the mkv versions which should play fine in both VLC and Quicktime.
