I’m a male who is very confused what happened to this thread.
Yeah, that’s how I’ve been feeling since I first read this thread.

In a way The Last Jedi is Disney’s veiled message, that we will probably never see the OOT released on (4K) bluray or any other form. TLJ’s message is clear. Out with the old, and in with the new. As a fan you either adapt or die. The OOT is the posterboy for the first generation of Star Wars fans. It represents the old, perhaps even the ancient, and not the new. Disney will put all their marketing power in selling this next generation Star Wars. The OOT has no place in this.
As a fan you either adapt or die.
Or go insane.
The middle way sure can suck sometimes.

Yeah, it’s terribly frustrating.

Apologies, I’ve redacted the sentence.
Would you be so kind to redact the sentence in your response?
Edit: Thanks!

If that was true, then this site and every OT preservation project is one giant middle finger then? 😉
Where were you in '77?
Yes, a film written and directed by a man who literally called the Special Editions the “cartoon versions” was definitely made with a veiled anti-OOT message.
Can’t we keep the TLJ bitching confined to the TLJ threads?
I’ve never been a fan of DISNEY but I require only two items from them: a fully-restored OOT in 4K and 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA (1954).
and the Black Cauldron on Blu-Ray, preferably with the censored footage restored.
I would put this in my sig if I weren’t so lazy.
They may use Legacy who knows and may release it with Solo when that comes out or with a release of blu ray Last Jedi

Kylo said that, and then moments later perpetuates the very behavior he said he’d kill
Besides, if they care enough to put out a remastered vinyl of the original Star Wars 77 soundtrack complete with the original track listing, then I don’t think an oot release is too much of a stretch

Sadly, his opinion matters not.

Especially since we know Disney will have you re write your film or have you fired if you deviate too far from what they expect out of you as a director
Or maybe just make terrible movies, like Collin Trevorrow.

I’m sure he’s not the only person working with LFL who wants the OOT. Just forces beyond control, I suppose.
The OOT would make the perfect Criterion release. That way the plebs can have their version and we can have the historically important set. I would buy it for full MSRP on release.
It seems like people are really embracing the new characters. In fact, the big question people ask me now about Star Wars is, “Are Finn and Poe gay lovers?” And really how the f*ck would I know? My second husband left me for a man, so my gaydar isn’t exactly what you’d call Death Star level quality. ----Carrie Fisher
