Staring at a dark screen. In about 35 minutes there’ll be car commercials, then trailers, then in about 1 hour it’ll start. Should have brought headphones or something.

just don’t be like the a$$hole a row in front of me last night, who kept getting out their phone during the movie, and shining the screen light on everyone behind them. 😃

I think I’ll bring a sledge hammer with me to smash anybody’s phone that does that.

This is a good strategy, and I implore everyone to adopt the same.

Ugh, I have to wait until Monday to go! The suspense is killing me.

On the up side, I’ll be seeing it on the biggest screen in Texas in IMAX laser!

Cool! I’d love to know how that compares to 70mm IMAX.

Dunkirk was the first movie I ever saw on imax laser, earlier this year. While I’d love to be able to say that 70mm is definitively superior, I really can’t.

I still personally prefer film, but if I’m being totally honest, the dual 4K laser projection looked as good as any 70mm print I’ve seen. And according to articles I’ve read the industry professionals who’ve conducted direct comparison shootouts tend to agree.

Saw a ten minute preview of Dunkirk attached to Rogue One when I saw it at a 70mm IMAX back in January. The aerial footage was stunning.

I got spoiled by scrolling down my Twitter Feed. I just finished my 3-day exam that totally blocked the Dec. 13 (I live in the Philippines) release date. and This dude just popped up into my DM’s and asks about why -REDACTED- is -REDACTED- and so on and so forth. I hope that certain spoiler is very minor, though for you guys who have seen the film, it rhymes with Willy Wonka has a double decker bed. In case that the mods want that rhyme taken down, then that’s fine by me.

I think Dat_SW_Guy’s post should be edited. It comes too close to a spoiler for comfort.

I really hope TLJ is more like TESB than ANH. Sure, ANH is a great movie, one of the greatest of all time, but it lacks the greater depth of Empire. Empire carries the weight of the trilogy. From the vague non-spoileriffic impressions I’m hearing, what I hope may be right.

I dunno I’m actually trying to think of what it could possibly mean and I’m getting nothing but maybe some are more clever than me.

This entire time I’ve remained completely spoiler free and literally one day before I go to see it some asshole I’m friends with posts a meme that jokingly includes a huge spoiler and it’s true. I’m fucking pissed and I unfriended him over it.

That sucks man. 😦

What’s the internal temperature of a TaunTaun? Luke warm.

Though I tripped over a rock and only stumbled 3 feet down the Spoiler Canyon, I will still rise up and see the film till I reach the end of that deep, treacharous canyon.

Not a surprise (the following weeks are going to be more interesting… many people aren’t probably going to watch it several times like they did with TFA)

You could well be right there Mala - though seems a few on here (if taken as any sort of sample 😉) may be heading back for repeat viewings (there was a lot to take in and process).

My letter to the film companies for heavily discounted tickets for 2nd/3rd viewings at the cinema have not been replied to 😃

The 2nd/3rd week takings may do well with it being the holidays - and also kids being off school and going to see it then too?

I feel the opposite, because I think there was a lot more to take in with this one than with TFA.

Yeah even me who wasn’t impressed that much is still compelled to watch it again; though my excuse is to take my mother out to see it for the first time 🤣

I have no idea why you think this.

Yeah, this one lends itself to repeat viewings far more than TFA did. (I feel like every time I say stuff like that I need to point out yet again that I really liked TFA…)
