Change in plans.
In the comments on the Paypal Receipt just put a note that it’s for the $1000 challenge and Adywan can tally them up next weekend. Only donations that specifically say it’s for the challenge will be matched.

Well in 1,000 Challenge - a great gesture - really hope it goes well 😃

I’m guessing we’re not going to see ESB:R other than the MKV released before Christmas. Does anyone know if Ady has abandoned altogether the other five versions with corrections, or were they released and I missed them entirely? His last updates have only mentioned ANH:R HD and ROTJ:R.
They told me they’d fixed it!
I said a while ago that the Blu_ray/ DVD versions won’t be available until mid next year at the earliest

Don’t take this the wrong way Ady but I was just wondering if you’ve got all your ESB:R work on seperate hard drive/s from your ROTJ:R and ANH:R HD work? And backed up to boot?
It’s just that from memory, your editing work has chewed through a number of computers and hard drives (with the current donation drive to help fund the new editing PC) and for your sake and everyone one else anxiously waiting for the Bluray release of ESB:R (which includes myself), I’d hate for the crunching your current projects will do to kill their associated hard drives and lose all your ESB:R work (if it happened to coexist on said drives) before it can be released to the world in its higher quality formats that it deserves to be seen in 😃
I’d assume you have this sort of thing well in hand considering the personal time, effort and cost you’ve invested in these edits. It was just a small, niggling concern that entered my head upon being reminded that the ESB:R BD won’t release till mid next year.

All the ESB files etc are stored on new external hard drives

Sweet, thanks for the reply.
Good luck and god speed on your ANH:R HD and ROTJ:R work 😃

Why waiting that long by the way ? I understand that making a full bluray with menu and features takes time, but if the fanedit already exists in high quality I fail to understand why a mkv of the ucompressed version of the edit is postoned to next summer.

The mkv is already out there. I’m not sure what you are referring to here
Why did you retime when “Episode V” came up in the crawl to be a second earlier? Especially since The Force Awakens had already been out for a while, and “Episode VII” showed up in the crawl a second later, just like all of the other official releases. You said you wanted to have TFA in your viewing marathon, right? So I thought you wanted some consistency by having the crawls start at the same time with each movie.

I think he’s requesting a second MKV be released that matches the bit rate you plan to use on the Bluray.
Otherwise, he’s requesting what we’re all secretly craving, a lossless 10-bit x265 encoded mkv that is an exact representation of what’s on your computer as a finished project, complete with the audio in LPCM. Then everyone can customize/reencode the file on their computer on their own time to fit their target device or media.
Preferred Saga:
1/2: Hal9000
3: L8wrtr
4/5: Adywan
6-9: Hal9000
Oh shit you’re right. The crawl is slightly retimed. I can as a result never watch this again, nor enjoy it in conjunction with the other films.

Considering the nitpickery of some people in these threads, that may not be far from the truth for them.

An example of actual decent comedy in the prequels.
And of course that’s the one they cut.
Ady!!! I finally got around to seeing this! Very well done, old friend. It simply stunning! It made my marathon that much more enjoyable. Thank you for this. Years of hard work has paid off - this is now my definitive edition of this film!

I thought the comedy in that scene was terrible, but much like 99% of the attempted comedy in the prequels

Adywan is simply giving his opinion on a scene, and comparing it to others similar from the Prequels - whether that is positive or negative - is neither here or there.
This is Adywan’s thread, and if a subject comes up of interest that he wishes to reply to, or give his opinion to - he is welcome to do so.
