I’ve noticed the price of the official Star Wars USB Drives (in the shape of the characters) have dropped recently…

http://www.ebay.com/bhp/star-wars-usb

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=star+wars+usb

It seems that a 16gb USB drive in the shape of Vader, Yoda, R2, BB8, Stormtrooper, Boba Fett, Maul and all - go for around $10 - new with free delivery, a 32gb version for a couple of $'s more, and a 64gb version for around $20…

They look quite fun & decent on the shelf next to the vhs, dvd, bluray cases and other Star Wars releases etc - also serving as a back-up device too - and obviously they don’t require any boxes, cases or printing of ink at all…

just a few examples…

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…

Those are pretty nifty. I was considering adding the USB as an option to my box set re-do, but now I think it is a must. Thanks for sharing those…

Very helpful! I found a 64GB Darth Vader Mimobot for a reasonable $35 😄 Can’t wait to load it up with the my copies of the Despecialized Editions as well as any other SW-related material/videos. I even have an empty Darth Vader watch box to put it in.

That’s awesome. Do you have a link for the Vader? I am doing a version 2 box set, but I want to have usb’s in there as well.

Sure. Here you go:

https://www.amazon.com/Mimoco-64GB-MIMOBOT-Flash-Drive/dp/B008MHHAPG/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1510371600&sr=1-1&keywords=Darth+Vader+Unmasked+64gb

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Star-Wars-Mimobot-Darth-Vader-Unmasked-Flash-Drive-64GB/112279297028?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

32GB Version: https://www.amazon.com/Darth-Vader-Unmasked-MIMOBOT-Flash/dp/B008MHHAQK/ref=pd_day0_147_1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=N33CBRX4JFFPXCAAGD63

There’s apparently two face versions of the Vader one when you take the cap off. The scarred Hayden Christensen version and the pale Sebastian Shaw one from ROTJ. I think the 64GB one is from a later reissue where you’re guaranteed the ROTJ one but I could be wrong.

I decided to make a USB box cover based on the 2015 release of Star Wars: The Complete Saga. Not the best I admit but it’s a start:

Here’s Version 2:

And here’s Version 3:

^ Sweet they are mate, nice one 😃

Top idea in re-using your old Star Wars watch box as a usb drive holder too!

If you have a spare ikea-style pic frame those ‘Complete Saga’ pics may also be a good fit for that? (always good to have options 😃)

(I just rest the small usb drive on the bottom ledge)

My next ‘project’…

Saw the idea on https://www.geeky-gadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/VHS-Tape-External-Hard-Drives_1.jpg

^ these are seemingly no longer for sale. Yet the premise seems cool…

Got a spare blank vhs tape and a spare (or reprinted or bought from ebay etc) Star Wars cover?

Want to gut the blank vhs tape to house a portable USB external hard drive in it - with a load of Star Wars content on?

I’ve no idea on how to do it (without likely visiting A&E or cutting myself) - but will soon hopefully work it out… 😃

Will likely take some ideas from this ‘vhs to folding pencil case’ video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7lHzwhPxvBY

(You could just slap a Star Wars sticker onto a portable USB hard drive too - though that seems far too easy and maybe not quite as much fun… 😉)

There is also the making an old vhs tape into a nightlight / lamp too:-

^ from https://www.etsy.com/shop/NancysJars

or how to make one yourself - http://www.instructables.com/id/VHS-DECORATION-LAMP/

… but one thing at a time 😉

Thanks, I’m trying to emulate the Blu-Ray set by grabbing all the documentaries, featurettes, webisodes, deleted scenes, bloopers, and specials I can find relating to I - VI while adding some new things that were sadly left out like Empire Of Dreams, The Legacy Revealed, Trailers/TV Spots, and even a few new parodies like Sith Apprentice, Chad Vader, etc. It’s a pain sometimes but it’s a labor of love.

I have few blank VHS tapes so color me interested in your new project.

^ Cool project that mate - good luck with it 😃

I haven’t had much time to do any work on the video tapes as yet - but did pick up some hinges for the vhs tapes from a hardware store today, so hope to start something quite soon…

In the meanwhile, I did find these cool videos - which may be of interest for anyone with a spare SNES cart, and wants to convert one into an external USB hard drive:-

PAL carts - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ackV3KfYNts (2.5" laptop drive)

US carts - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ttYmX-1I8RU (SSD)

or if you have the skills (and tools) then make your own stylish custom wooden box for a USB external hard drive - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtLkOcaUYb4

or buy a cheap transparent hard drive enclosure, like this one below:-

and then put your own custom cover in it to suit your own taste/preference 😃

I found an Instructable on how to convert a VHS tape into a hard drive: http://www.instructables.com/id/VHS-Tape-Storage-Drive/

I doubt it’s the same guy but if that fails you could always try repurposing the SNES cart tut.

Was just messing around in paint for a different Faces-based project…

and this very basic idea too (was playing around with OT ‘trilogy’ logos etc)…

Came across these on Ebay, includes a sleeve to insert a cover but it’s a bit small.

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Flash-drive-case-red-4-pack-/112338231795

Also that elite photo box can be bought on Amazon if you live in the states: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FS0SKYA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I got one and it’s pretty great! Had to resize the “Digital Movie Collection” cover but it looks fantastic when inserted into the box.

Edit: Here’s a Kylo Ren USB cover made from one of the pre-loaded HP Star Wars wallpapers:

^ love those mate - especially the red 4-pack; very useful for those with many, many usb drives 😃

Quality pic of Ren too!

An alternative to building the a whole box to store their dvd/bluray/usb cases in…

(from http://www.sideshowcollectors.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-115665-p-7.html)

^ It wouldn’t even require a base - just a ‘wrap-around’ band to hold the 3 cases in place with some strong photo quality card/paper - with any artwork of your choice…

Came across an old Kenner figure template of old earlier today, thought it may be an idea for storing a USB drive full of Star Wars projects - or an external drive…

Buy a cheap acrylic display case for single Star Wars kenner / palitoy figures from ebay (or similar) for around $3/4…

and use a template like this for whatever content you are going to store on the USB / external drive…

Original sized 1795x2719 image can be found here - https://i.imgur.com/OteQAOU.png

Then fill in the black space with, for example, an adywan image or logo, or Despecialized image, 4K release, or just a Star Wars image you like (or leave it blank of using an external drive).

Cut the template to size of the display case - and you have a cheap custom-made storage display case for your Star Wars projects / films etc.

Hey everyone, I’m making yet another format of the movies. This time I’m going for a usb collection. I’ve got a blu ray case meant to house a flash drive coming, and put together this case art below. Made this as a composite of many images. Hope everyone likes it. And yes, the series ends after episode 6. Let me know what yall think!

Here’s my custom box set containing my preferred preservations, fanedits, & extras. Each film gets a Netac 256GB flash drive (I was thrilled to find these; they go great with the Star Wars aesthetic: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082VZ47YV/). The container is a simple wooden picture-frame box I inherited, with a custom foam insert. Simple, but I’m really happy with it:

New username but same old person! I LOVE everything about this case! So much content in one box! 4K versions of all the movies, 97’ SE, GOUT, etc but it’s the presentation I love most of all about this! It REALLY stands out in a film collection!

Thank you for uploading the covers. Is each version of said movie on 1 usb drive? Like for example, would the A New Hope drive have 4K77, 4K97, GOUT, etc? How about the supplemental content? Are they part of aseperate drive?

Sorry, I just really enjoy the presentation though I prefer having all the movies on 1 USB.
