I use Kindle because my wife can’t see how many Star Wars books I own.

Also she’s annoying, right?

Can’t tell if serious.

Also I can’t tell if that’s a subtle dig at me or not (carried over from the Bitching Thread).

Stephen King’s IT, Page 423 of 1041. (7 pt. font on Universal Book Reader for Android. Physical book is in storage.)

which font family?

I can’t tell if that’s a serious question. E-Readers usually have multiple selectable fonts.

it wasn’t?

I also don’t understand why you would buy the physical book, but not read it. Reading a physical book is usually faster (according to the random research i have seen, google it yourself). Maybe if RayRogers was reading the book he would be done by now :p

That is intended to be good natured ribbing by the way.

Usually on the bus getting to work and also campus. Even bought the book well over 20 years ago, it’s in storage, and that’s just too much shit to lug around all day, everyday.

Also reading: Who Gives a Flying Fuck? by Handy Wankstein III.

No. That attitude towards fellow members isn’t on - and you’ve been warned about your attitude before.

Enjoy some time off from the site - I hope you use it wisely and improve on the attitude - as you are a decent poster without it…

weird. Who was he giving a dig to, why was he giving a dig that person or people? I don’t get it.

Books made of paper have their problems too. The way the pages curve into the spine, how pages will “lift” from the surface of the book. etc…

Maybe he was digging at all us old geezers who read books on paper.

Holy shit no wonder he was banned!

There is also weight consideration. Some books are very heavy and an e-reader and hold a lot of books, much more than one could carry in their hands. But there is just something about a physical book. For example, an e-book could not replace a physical book from my father’s personal library. Also I would not want an e-Bible. I want a physical Bible. I want my Bible in leather cover with gold gilding, not some impersonal text on a kindle.

I am neutral on this issue, but redirect respect both sides of the argument.

It was a joke that wasn’t really directed at you or anybody in particular but I just used you’re post as a base for it.

you better lay off that ‘respect for all sides’, unless you are feeling pugilistic. I am ready.

The Bible does not work well on an eBook Reader. But on an app, like the YouVersion app Life.Curch made, it works very well indeed.

I like both. Not either, but both.

Perhaps, but if I had to choose, I would easily take the physical edition over an e-edition. But yes, both have their uses.

It would seem I missed the ‘joke’ of this - it may well not have been an insult - and I have misinterpreted the last line of the post above.

My apologies to RayRogers - who is as of right now - unbanned.

I didn’t even think it was that rude if it was a dig. It’s certainly not over the line as far as Off Topic goes IMO.

Jason, I think you’re trying too hard to over-police Off Topic without entirely understanding the culture of this corner of the forum. This isn’t the first mod action you’ve taken here that indicates this to me, but it’s IMO the least defendable one so far.

The correct word is defensible. Geez, you loser!

Always happy to see a level-headed person that can admit to a mistake and take steps to apologize and correct it, especially when they’re in a position of authority. Everyone here can learn from this, myself included.

Thanks for doing what you can to set a good example for everybody, oojason!
