I'm drawing a STAR WARS character every day for the rest of November.

Hey, everyone! Lat month I participated in Inktober (art challenge in which you do an ink drawing every day for the entire month of October) and it got me on the right foot to want to draw more personal projects. One of which was a Star Wars Alphabet (posted Ackbar yesterday; today was Bossk). So from November 5th till November 30th I’ll be doing 26 drawings of Star Wars characters in an alphabetical order.

Now, I will be taking some creative liberties and adding my sense of humor to them, so…don’t expect anything great. Also, I won’t be discriminating against the new films, prequels or EU.

You can find my artwork on Twitter https://twitter.com/HaraldsBaumanis and Instagram https://www.instagram.com/haralds_baumanis/, but I’ll be posting direct links to the drawings here as well, in case you don’t want to follow me.

Thank you to whoever is interested in this and any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Very nice idea, i like promoting ‘doing art’ like this.

I would just suggest embedding the images in your posts. like so:

A - ACKBAR

A - ACKBAR

B - Bossk

Very cool art - and like dahmage says above - a top idea too 😃

Thanks, guys!
Embedding is a good idea! How do I do it, though? When I paste in the embedded tweet it shows up here as gibberish in the preview.

SilverWook - that would’ve been a better, more deep cuts character to draw. Unfortunately, I’ve already sketched out the entire alphabet, not much room left for alterations. Mostly cause of work and real life responsibilities, time is valuable. But, again, that’s way more original than what I picked. Still, I hope you’ll enjoy the selections I made.

Anyways, C for C-3PO is up!

haraldo23 - to embed a picture on here try the following code:-

!{}(https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DN_hr7rWkAAwEpP.jpg)

but remove the {} above and replace them with [] - the code will then work and the picture should be embedded 😃

This guide may also be of use too:-

oojason is right. you can also get more clever, and have the image be a clickable link that directs to your twitter post, along with alt-text. just click “Quote” next to my post to see the markdown of how i did it.

do you draw on paper and then scan it, or do you use a stylus / pad etc? just curious what your tools are.

Gonna guess real ink first before digital colours

Hey, it worked! Thanks, guys! I’ll add full images as replies and keep posting links in the original post, so that it’s not a burden to scroll through to get to tho conversation.

Thanks! I’m just using them as a way to come out of the closet as an artist and see how people react to my work.

For the most part, all of these are done in Manga Studio (a.k.a. Clip Studio Paint) with a basic Wacom (CTL-470) tablet I’ve owned since 2012. Inktober was, of course, done fully traditionally and I prefer photoshop for freelance illustration work, but Clip Studio Paint is such a lightweight program built specifically for drawing - this project is partly an excuse to get to know it more.

The people are pleased.

Continue.

No, seriously, these are really, really good. You seem to have a strong angle preference - not that there’s anything wrong with that considering how well you’ve been using it thus far 😃 C3PO is my favorite - wouldn’t mind hanging that piece on my wall.

Is the uniform color palette intentional, or is it a byproduct of how (/how quickly) you’re doing these?

It’d be an honor to have my art on somebody’s wall. I’ll see if there are any print shops near by, when this is done maybe I can ship some out for those who really want one.

Yes, the blue tint is to add some more life to the project and give it a sense of unity. It’s also creeping me out a little how it looks, lol. Other colors didn’t seem to quite fit the Star Wars theme. Red usually fits everything, but when you get into halftones and things like that - it turns pink all over the place and makes the image look like a twisted Valentine’s Day card.

Back to the alphabet, here’s letter E:

E - EV-9D9

E - EV-9D9

Like that a lot - a different perspective to the usual views of Tarkin, and still captured his thoughtful menace - nice one 😃

Great stuff! Have you ever thought of uploading a speedpaint video of some of your Star Wars work to Youtube? I always enjoy watching people draw. 😃
