…I’m going to be stuck on 12-hour night shifts 5-6 days a week for at least a month now, and that’s assuming we manage to hire someone for third shift, like, tomorrow. And that they work out.

Well, turns out we did hire someone, like, the next day, so I’ve been training him for nights ever since.

He walked out halfway through his shift tonight.

Fuck people.

Well, hopefully something terrible will happen to him.

Insomnia – you know you have it when you can’t get to sleep after 12 AM even though the power was out since 2 PM.

Me too. Also I’m sick of being alone.

Looks at Handman’s sig image, turns green with envy. I want a classic OT Death Star too! 😉

Where were you in '77?

Beautifully done sig, Handman - really nice work 😃

Re your post… (and apologies if you’ve heard this before…)

Have you considered volunteering in the community - doing a few hours in a charity store, or for a project. Are you interested in team sport or going to gym etc? Perhaps a chess or games club? Even going to a local library and seeing what’s going on in the community etc?

These may help you focus on something positive - and also increase your chances of meeting people - hopefully some like-minded people.

I know it’s easy to say the above on an internet board, especially as I don’t know your circumstances… though having that something new to look forward to - to contribute - can be quite rewarding - and also opens up a possibility of making new acquaintances or friends as well.

I wish you good fortune for your life still to come… 😃

That sig does look great…but in my opinion, it’s a bad idea. We’ve obviously struggled with people not knowing who the moderators are. The moderator signature is a good step forward, however a lot of people tend to glaze over signatures. Allowing non-moderators to have very similar signatures strikes me as a step backward as it may just lead to further confusion.

Volunteering or getting a second job (or getting a better job if possible) is a good way to meet people. The only people I speak to face to face other than family are work people and I like most of them. I hate clubs and organizations and I can’t explain why so I wouldn’t recommend Handman do that. I think it’s because those are specifically meant to be social situations, whereas work is just a place that you happen to be together at while doing something else.

It’s a temporary thing until Jay can code something up that only mods will have displayed beside their names.

Ok, seems like you should temporarily not allow it then.

temporarily not allow what?

Maybe you should temporarily read the last page.

Oops, Frink beat me to it in a kinder way.

Hopefully the members on here can differentiate between the word ‘moderator’ and ‘member’.

Plus, Handman’s sig is a lot cooler than ours 😦 Doh! 😃

Personally, I think Handman should keep his signature - it’s on me that we didn’t ask other members to not riff on the signature of moderators before.

So…

We ask no other members have a signature that resembles that of the moderators - to try and allay any potential confusion.

(and Handman keeps his sig)

I did read the last page. But the way Frink stated his post, made it look like he was saying they should get rid of the moderator sigs.

I state my belated agree.

Thank you. If desired, I can make a moderator version and remove mine and send it to the relevant authorities. Though I did like having my own little spoof.

Keep your cool sig for now mate - I’ll speak with the other mods and see what they think too.

(and I’ve already done a riff on your top sig for us mods 😉 😃 - should we all decide to use it, of course)

Edit: it seems us mods are in accord - and we like it very much - for that - many thanks 😄

My 2 year old fractured her ankle today 😦

Thankfully it is not severe and should heal just fine, but it sucks all the same. She will have to be in a cast for 6-8 weeks.

i expect there will be much more Dora the Explorer and My Little Pony being watched around these parts than usual for the next few weeks.

Sorry to hear that, but why on earth would she want to watch My Little Pony? :p

I’m with TV’s Fink on this. Show her Beauty And The Beast instead.
