I thought it was a spoof account when I watched that mate.

(CNN statement says president ‘involved in juvenile behavior far below the dignity of his office’ while Ben Sasse says he is ‘trying to weaponise distrust’)
^ Trump is very much the lowering the bar - and it has occurred so many times it is seemingly becoming ‘accepted’ or almost ‘normal’ for this type of behaviour from him.

In theory, they probably could give him the boot. It’s a privately held company, and there are other ways to post your brainfarts on the interwebs. His followers can scream “boycott twitter!” all they want, but they don’t really have anyplace else to go. There is no alternative to twitter, except blogs and sites that require a bit more computer literacy to use.
It’s funny the stuff he’s said would get him banned around here.

Twitter has been under fire for a while for not addressing the harassment issue directly enough. Maybe banning Donald Trump would be seen as a message that Twitter will get serious on harassment, at least among some people. But, that wouldn’t solve the problem of all the trolls on Twitter who are not the President of the United States.
