New international agreements should be introduced to regulate the internet in the light of the London Bridge terror attack, Theresa May has said.
The Prime Minister said introducing new rules for cyberspace would “deprive the extremists of their safe spaces online” and that technology firms were not currently doing enough.
The Prime Minister made the comments outside Downing Street on Sunday morning in the aftermath of the van and knife attack that saw seven people killed and dozens injured.
“We cannot allow this ideology the safe space it needs to breed – yet that is precisely what the internet, and the big companies that provide internet-based services provide,” Ms May said.

This is the most consequential geopolitical development this year. All are U.S. allies; both Saudi Arabia and Qatar are known to have funded and supported Islamic State and other terrorist organizations in the Middle East. They have even been fighting as allies in a war in Yemen, and yet Saudi Arabia has cited concerns over terrorist funding as the reason they are cutting ties with Qatar.
It is highly unlikely that these four states would be turning on Qatar without approval from the Trump administration.

(That’s not to say the tech companies can’t do more - indeed they can - but I didn’t any calls on banning books or libraries (though she is doing here best to close down as many as she can. Nor do I see her calling for a ban on selling arms to countries which fund terrorism - though she is suppressing reports that links that very thing)

crazy isn’t it? - Trump gets caught out by his own lack of empathy and then tweets using the London Bridge attacks to further his muslim ban, (before offering sympathy for the victims) - and tries to deflect attention away of it to Khan and the media…
…when in fact Khan hasn’t said anything other than his original statement.
A spokesman for Khan did say in reply to Trump’s first tweet re Khan - 'He (Khan) has more important things to do than respond to Donald Drumpf’s ill-informed tweet that deliberately takes out of context his remarks urging Londoners not to be alarmed when they saw more police — including armed officers — on the streets,”
