The key to getting DE (assuming you can’t find it on torrent sites) without experiencing a lot of pain is to use the Free Rapid Downloader. There are detailed instructions for doing so on the DE Facebook page.

Okay… I’ve searched a few of the replies on here, and I’ve never used myspleen before. How can I possibly get a hold of these? I’d love to have them to replace my father’s VHS set that is rapidly deteriorating; it’d be perfect for that. Plus, he’s got a huge TV now so the experience will be fantastic, I’m sure.

I am very interested in the link to these blu ray .iso files. Please let me know if there is anything else I should be doing.

I hope I’m going about this the right way. It’s incredibly refreshing to see a group of fans who are willing to put so much dedication into a project such as this and also taking great care (as much as reasonably possible) to avoid blatant piracy and theft.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Bluto and dahmage!

I appreciate all the info. I am aware that most/all torrent software has built in file integrity checks. In fact, as you said Bluto, I always stop a torrent after completion and run the recheck before seeding again to verify the download. There’s just something about getting checksums from the file provider that gives me a warm fuzzy feeling inside, but I’m sure everything is fine.

I’m trying to get a couple of sets together as gifts to give on the 4th to a couple co-workers. No worries, they buy anything Star Wars related they can get their hands on. They have never heard of Despecialized, and when I brought it up to them their eyes glazed over like they were in shock. They have payed for these movies many times over so they deserve to have what they’ve always wanted.

I noticed the link to the 12 page booklet is down. Any kind souls out there able to point me in the direction of a working link for that? I’ve read the whole thread from beginning to end over the last week or so, maybe there is a working link that I overlooked. I’m gonna try to re-read the whole thread later tonight if I can find the free time. Thanks in advance, you all are wonderful.

Jedit: Is there a .pdf anywhere for the “Variant Booklet covers with doco/fanedit info (by njvc, adapted from Phildesfr)” for the 2 disc version of SW? The link in the OP has one for ESB and ROTJ, but the SW one is not there. There is a .psd for the 3 disc set of SW, but that’s it. It’s a shame because I would really like to use those since they look amazing and I love the extra info on the back.

Return of the Jedit: God everyone, sorry for all the questions. 99% of the time I have no need to print anything, so I was just going to take these case cover .pdf files to my local print shop. Are they already set to print at the appropriate size for blu ray cases, or are there special instructions I need to give them?

I’d report this guy too. He’s made thousands off these:

So frustrating. Have reported on both accounts. Anyone who can, please do the same.

EBay doesn’t care. Remember, they’re making a profit off of these sales as well. Until the original rights holder gets involved, nothing will change

Wooow, this looks incredible! I would like to have these. apologys for my stupidity but how do I download these. I can only see links to the previews?

Author

Oh my God. The last umpteen pages are filled with requests… I just came back in this thread after a long while since checking it, and had to wade through pages and pages of link requests.

These are downloadable from MySpleen. Please do not ask in this thread for an invite. There is a specific thread for spleen invites.

What are people using to print their covers on?

I’m all good with printing the discs-- I have access to a Rimage Everest 600, which produces really sweet results. For the covers, though… color laser? On what paper? Just curious if anyone has good recommendations on that.

Thanks!

I used an inkjet Canon with fairly heavy gloss presentation paper: http://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-inkjet-glossy-brochure-paper-180-gsm-150-sht-tabloid-11-x-17-in

I didn’t go too crazy with the covers because I knew I was going to use the Criterion cases, so for me, clarity was the most important thing. The slip cases and box covers I got professionally printed.

Jedit: That Everest 600 looks like a serious piece of machinery…

one69chev: Yes, the Everest 600 is a serious printer. It was an investment I made a few years ago that ended up working out very well.

It would be nice to be able to print some discs for some folks here, but doing so without opening up a flood of requests, that’s the real difficulty. It’s a bit expensive to use.

Anyhow, once I get ahold of the njvc .iso files I’ll post pics of my discs.

These look awesome and appear to be just what I was looking for! Can’t wait to get these BluRays burned and playing.

Hey, I had a friend at work tell me about this. I’d love to get a copy of this, but see that I need an invite to myspleen (?). Is there anything special I need to do to get an invite? Because I’m SO there.

There’s a separate forum post for invite requests. Since you’re new, here’s a link to the invite request post.

Good luck!

No, you are absolutely not better off supporting those pieces of shit profiting off of the works of members of this sure who did the work for free.

If there’s one thing that will make Lucasfilm/Disney crackdown on this stuff is someone making thousands on it. And blu-ray burners are cheap.

Better off just buying them on the usual auction site. Especially for those of us that no longer have optical drives in our systems to burn things.

Oh the hell no.

Hey if anyone has a link to a torrent download of these Blu-Rays could you PM it to me?

I don’t have spleen even though I have been trying to get an invite.

Edit: Someone gave me an invite to myspleen. YAY!!!

(I also posted this in RonWilm’s thread)

Is there a good way to remove fingerprints from un-printed glossy BD’s?

I’ve done a few test printings on discs that didn’t quite burn correctly and noticed a few of them shown fingerprints after I printed. (more noticeable with the black background njvc disc images).

What is a safe way to clean the print surface prior to printing?

It’s a shame these threads have all just turned into torrent / invite request threads. There is no actual discussion content anymore.

Not that this post helps… I just want to complain 😃.

Well they could at least ask in the right thread.

Yes mate - a bit of a kicker that.

I imagine many of us pop in a few of these quality threads from time to time - seeing the thread has been bumped - thinking there may be some new additions to the work, or a new alternative take, or that it has inspired someone to do something similar, or perhaps that the techniques and software used are now easier to compile our own versions of njvc’s great work, or just a good conversation on the topic at hand etc…

but no… it’s yet another ‘can I have a link’ post…

doh!

A little patience goes a long way on this old-school Rebel base. If you are having issues finding what you are looking for, these will be of some help…
