“We want to create peace between Israel and the Palestinians. We will get it done,” Trump said. “We will be working so hard to get it done. I think there is a very good chance and I think we will.”

At a lunch later on, he was even bolder: “It is something that I think is frankly, maybe, not as difficult as people have thought over the years.”

Sounds reasonable.

I’m sick of the Russian hacking conspiracy. Let’s instead focus on the real problems, like the GOP taking away people’s healthcare, or gutting environmental policy, or the executive branch trying to destroy free speech.

Clinton: I was on the way to winning until a combination of the Comey letter and WikiLeaks “scared off” voters.

Who the f^%k is Russian WikiLeaks? This is a laughable statement from her.

Maybe she was trying to say Russia is in cahoots with wikileaks? It’s no more silly than when Trump said we’re in the “age of computer”.

All equally valid concerns, but if you think they aren’t trying to pull this crap in other countries’ elections, and won’t try messing with ours again in 2020, I have some lovely Florida swampland you might be interested in.

Every day he says or does something that makes me think, “This guy is a real dumb fuck!” To which I then think, “Yeah, but you already knew that.” But somehow he still manages to continue astonishing anew.

You may be right about Russia’s interference, but the truth is that Trump is not going to be impeached over this like The #resistance hopes. Instead, Dems should have focused on the rust belt states Trump ended up winning, and maybe not have blindly made Hillary the nominee in the first place. Then we wouldn’t be bitching about Russia meddling in our last election, and it wouldn’t be as serious a charge as it is today.

An astonishing video from CNN…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lk99uQQGEok

Two members of the administration ranting at the press-core about the border wall and then CNN has the cheek to actually go off to the border and check the veracity of the rants.

It’s like the Trump administration believe they are living in a Stalinist regime where they control all the newspapers, radio and TV and can decide what is true and nobody will challenge them on it.

Fair play to the journalists who go out and check out lies told by politicians - the more investigative or fact-checking journalists the better - especially in the days of so many lies, mis-truths and misdirection proven to be continually coming out from those in power.

  1. The White House has never said that the chain link fence shown in the picture was the actual border wall in that area. They said a fence like that will not keep people out. They did say that the chain link fence is what is there right now and they were correct. It is there to keep the workers safe.

  2. The White House also said that money procured during this budget round was to get things started. About 40 Miles of fencing will be built/replaced. At the same time they said that they are preparing for the next budget rounds in the fall because there are places they need permission to build. Land that needs to be procured for the work to continue.

  3. Even Mulvaney said what he pointed at isn’t new wall and it is replacement for an existing wall. He also says that there is money in the budget deal for this because things weren’t finished by the last administration. That is why they are getting two cracks at it this year.

  4. Sean Spicer told them in yesterdays briefing where the locations were and New Mexico was one of the sites he mentioned.

Gotta love Anderson Cooper … trying to stay relevant by leaving stuff out of the story so people that don’t watch the briefings side with him/CNN. The story is a joke. Had they used all the facts to tell it I might think otherwise.

Had Anderson Cooper told the story in the link above you probably wouldn’t have found the story astonishing.

“folks, if you saw my monologue Monday, you know that I was a little upset with Donald Trump for insulting a friend of mine. So, at the end of that monologue, I had a few choice insults for the president in return. I don’t regret that.

“I believe he can take care of himself. I have jokes; he has the launch codes. So, it’s a fair fight.”

My take on this whole thing: you can brag about grabbing a woman by the pussy and still be elected President, so by that standard this seems like small potatoes.

Well then, in theory, if you can’t let Trumps comment go then you can’t let Colbert’s comment go either. Small potatoes for sure.

Via her lawyer, Susan Rice declines to testify in front of Senate Subcommittee on Russian Meddling.

Former Obama administration National Security Adviser Susan Rice on Wednesday declined a request to testify next week before a Senate subcommittee, citing separation of powers between the executive and legislative branches and the fact that the invitation was not bipartisan.

Rice’s decision to decline the invitation to testify on Russia’s election meddling came in a letter from her lawyer, Kathryn Ruemmler, to the leaders of the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Crime and Terrorism, Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.).

That point is moot. It’s not a question of like/dislike of the person, it’s whats being said.

Still not seeing any gay outrage over this. Just Trumpy minions who see this as revenge for their beloved Bill O’Reilly losing his job.

Anyone know what sort of delay is on the AHCA that passed the House today (I know nobody’s read the whole thing–just that part)? I’m assuming the tax cuts for the wealthy would be more-or-less immediate, but they hold off on the insurance cuts until after the 2018 midterms. I could see the delay getting stretched past 2020 though, so there’d be not as much of a visible downside until after the next round of redistricting.
