Star Wars DVD Covers — Page 180

EDIT - June 2017 : photobucket.com have been really annoying and have recently stopped 3rd party hosting - so many of the links for covers on the next few pages (pages 176 to 180) are now broken… (and I’m unwilling to pay the seemingly exorbitant $399 a year for the links to be to work again).

However, if you click on the ‘link’ below each picture - it will still take you to the cover / art etc to view and download.

Fortunately all the covers posted are also stored in on Mega - which is free, easy to use, and to download:-

Rikter - 1.44 gb Star Wars Cover collection disc: https://mega.nz/folder/0PFRzYpC#DLtVxS3gT3ikn67Qo5SbVw

Jetrell Fo - 1.141gb Star Wars cover art: https://mega.nz/folder/1HVyDSJC#9S8hU-cD4QjD1WtjN5wZeA

oojason - 1.86gb Star Wars cover art collection: https://mega.nz/folder/JfUTwACb#F-B4a_-oJrLTbP7h0KHw8Q

From Jetrell Fo’s superb collection…

Coov hyperload…

Coov covers:-

If anyone out there has covers or works from…

ReverendBeastly, Falle, HotRod, AvP, Spyderbyte, Chainsaw Ash, Imrahil, and Yourfriendkaysar

please post them up in here - thank you 😃

Question for Jetrell Fo and oojason regarding Jetrell Fo’s collection put on google drive.

I’ve been looking around the collection and have noticed two things.

1 - in the Jetrell Cover Collection/Coov/Fancy directory, the file fancy-ANH.jpg is only 181Kb and displays partially. Was it corrupted during transfer somewhere along the line, or is the source corrupt?

2 - in the Jetrell Cover Collection/Dark Jedi Transfer Covers/Dark-Sega Collection directory there are two pdf files. Is it possible that the file “ANH Special Collection insert.pdf” might exist, but didn’t make the transfer to google?

Weirdly mate - although I have a full thumbnail of the Coov Fancy ANH cover - but if I upload it, or open it, it only shows the top 1cm or so - the rest of the art is just greyed-out. Unfortunately I think the file may be corrupt. If you wish, send me a PM and I’ll arrange to send you the file directly - though sadly I don’t really have an answer for what is a very cool cover.

^ EDIT - now corrected - Jetrell Fo kindly sent me the file again - it is now working fine and has been uploaded to the googledrive and ready for viewing / downloading 😃

Re the Dark Jedi / Dark Saga - yes, unfortunately there are only 2 pdf files for the inserts (ESB & ROTJ - no ANH).

jason is not mistaken, the Dark Jedi/Dark Saga only had those 2 in it. It was not an issue with the transfer or me leaving it out. As for the other file, I will check on my end and send it directly to him for uploading.

I am sorry for this inconvenience.

JEDIT: In both instances on my HD, the COOV Fancy ANH is the same as it is showing. It was probably how I received it then. I will try and find a replacement. Please give me a little time to do so.

Nothing to be sorry about, stuff happens and didn’t want to imply that anyone was at fault.
I really appreciate that you and jason are taking the effort to even check it out. It is just a wonderful set of artwork and wanted it to be as complete as possible. Take all the time you want, knowing that life comes first before hobbies.

Thank you and jason for looking into this.

I have found a replacement file for the corrupt one. I have sent it to Jason to share with the rest of the Fancy set.

I just want to say, I understand people really wanting the old artwork, but there probably aren’t that many of us that still have it. The CD of stuff I started with I got because I donated to a good cause here for an old member. I’ve also downloaded stuff as I see it if I think it’s worth holding on to. You guys are getting some really great, really rare, fan custom covers. Keep them safe, enjoy them for what they are, and thanks for giving some of us time to find and fill requests if we can.

Author

I didn’t expect such a quick response. Many thanks for the effort above and beyond what is expected at finding a replacement source and sharing it with the community. Also appreciate the love shown to preserving the artwork.

My collection spans my years of membership here. Much respect to all those who’ve created the artwork I saved for a rainy day.

These look great, reminds me of some of the horizontal boxes for the Super Famicom games which I had as a kid (I did not understand some of the text back then because I didn’t learn Japanese yet but I loved playing them, even without being fluent in Japanese). Some games which had vertical boxes like Super Mario World, Mega Man X1-4 and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and some were horizontal like the Final Fantasy games, Star Ocean and Tales of Phantasia.

What cases are they for?

And speaking of the Super Famicom and horizontal covers, I think a cover series inspired by the boxes of the Super Star Wars Trilogy on the SNES would be really cool.

And I’ve loved every pixel of it.

Glad you like them - I’m surprised we haven’t seen more landscape’ style covers like Ell the Ewoks - I think they are kind of different and look fun. I don’t think they were for a specific set - which is also kind of nice when you can easily use covers for various sets 😃

To see a Famicom/SNES-based dvd cover of the Super Star Wars trilogy would be cool. Is this what you are thinking of?:-

Yes. But I’m thinking some of the logos and text would have to be altered if we were to make a DVD/Blu-ray cover.

And while I usually prefer Japanese cover art for most retro games, I think this kind of cover should be based on the US or Europe boxes since the Japanese box was vertical.

This is just a very quick & rough draft for ideas (the fonts for the logos are wrong, and it is not to scale or size etc) - I don’t really have the time right now, or to be honest - the skills required for a task like this - but perhaps something along the lines of this?

and

^ The picture is a little squished (a photobucket thing?), ‘the original trilogy’ seal isn’t quite the correct shade of gold colour, and I can’t find the correct Super Nintendo font (it isn’t ‘Agency FB’ as some say it is - which is more like Star Trek. Some say it is Helvetica) - which, I can’t find for free right now. Doh!

It may also be worth bumping one of the old request threads - or starting a new one for it - there are some superbly talented people on here - and I’m pretty sure it is something of interest that may attract them to knocking up a high quality set like this…

There is another horizontal cover for a DVD, however, it’s a SteelBook and it’s only in Italy, also it’s not Star Wars.

Please just tell me how to upload direct links here in OT.com and I can show you.

To post a picture here from another website, use this:-

![] (insert-link-in-here-between-the-brackets) - and then delete the space between the ] and (

If you just want to link it here then just ‘copy and paste’ the link on here and that’ll work too 😃

a 3-in-1 Trilogy dvd cover for the 1992 Special Widescreen Edition Laserdisc Set…

^ It is based on AvP’s superb dvd cover and disc art, as seen in here - http://originaltrilogy.com/topic/STAR-WARS-Special-Widescreen-Edition-Technidisc/id/13263.

It’s another quick ‘cut n paste’ MS paint effort - but hopefully it’ll do the job - or give ideas for someone to do a better or alternative cover - the more the merrier for an underrated set and some cool artwork.

This is a template for general 1992 Special Widescreen Edition sets - no mention of the Technidisc release - and a blank slot left open for anyone to put their own text in… (maybe for the Mitsubishi or original sets?)…

The artwork above (and any of my stuff) can also be found on a googledrive here:-

https://mega.nz/folder/JfUTwACb#F-B4a_-oJrLTbP7h0KHw8Q

Please feel free to view, download, use, edit any of it - and vastly improve upon them 😃

The artwork above (and any of my stuff) can also be found on a googledrive here - https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0ByfjLkYDj7bRcFo4RHkzbmV6RU0?usp=sharing - please feel free to view, download, use, edit any of it - and vastly improve upon it 😃

I know Althor did a 3n1 for BD25 and it would be cool to see a version of this for that.

Thanks for this Jason, ver cool.
