Some people struggle with the concept of Google.

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/gallup-trump-approval-rating-falls-week-one

President Donald Trump’s net approval rating dropped by eight points in his first week in the Oval Office, according to daily polls tracked by Gallup.

On Sunday Jan. 22, two days after being sworn in, 45 percent of respondents said they disapproved of Trump’s job performance and 45 percent approved. By Friday Jan. 27, the percentage who disapproved rose to 50 and percentage who approved dipped to 42.

Other national surveys show similarly low approval ratings for the President. Forty-four percent of respondents to a Quinnipiac survey released Thursday said they disapproved of his handling of the presidency thus far, while only 36 percent approved.

Then again, some people struggle with the concept of polling.

I assume the more unpopular Trump becomes, the more we’ll see Republicans jumping ship.

I don’t agree. I think more republicans will just double down on Trump’s rhetoric, in spite of waning public opinion. Moderate republicans who oppose Trump will just end up losing their primaries to challengers in 2018.

If Trump continues to be historically unpopular, Republicans will abandon him.

I agree. These guys still want to win their rererererererere-elections back home, and if Trump is going to keep generating thousands and thousands of protestors per day in the White House with his wildly unpopular executive orders and decisions, they will distance themselves from him. It’s already starting.

Is that why only TEN republicans spoke out against the Muslim ban? Most just stood by silent or even outright supported it. They are not distancing themselves from Trump at all.

Lol, it’s been one week. Ten is ten more than might have been expected one week ago.

I feel like it’s becoming more likely that Trump will have a Republican challenger in 2020. I mean, I think the moment he was elected with the majority of the country hating him this was a possibility, but things have only gotten worse. Of course a lot could change between now and then, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw Sasse or Graham run against him.

What numbers are you basing “the majority of the country hating him” on? I haven’t seen any specific polls or graphs or pies that lay this out. Any links?

That bit was just some obvious hyperbole. Fact is Trump has never once had a majority approval. Literally check any poll.

I wanted to give you the chance to say so, it was only fair. Look how many politicians in this country have a low approval rate and they’re still in their jobs. It’s going to take way more than hyperbole on anyone’s part to challenge his Presidency and right now the only abundance of anything I’ve seen is hyperbole.

No disrespect meant to you at all.

None taken. But Trump’s popularity is on shaky ground. For a president to start their term without a majority approval is almost unheard of. Not to mention he only had 45% of the vote to begin with. Democrats know that pretty much the only thing they need to win 2020 is someone with less baggage than Clinton. If Republicans realize that too, then we’ll see a challenger.

Only UK readers can sign this but it’s funny watching the numbers rise to protect Mrs Windsor’s Pussy. https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/171928

824,000+ signatures already. Wow.

Though, the Queen surely doesn’t need help from Trump to embarrass herself?

However, if it stops Trump from getting that State Visit - then I’ll sign up.

I imagine the Queen and the PM will sitting a little more uncomfortably after seeing 1% of the UK sign up to an online petition in 12 hours on a Sunday afternoon.

President Trump on Sunday defended his executive order banning refugees, migrants and foreign nationals from seven mostly Muslim countries from entering the United States but offered little clarity amid the chaos of legal challenges and national protests.

In a statement issued by the White House late Sunday, the president compared his order to action taken by then-President Obama in 2011 to give new scrutiny to visas for Iraqi refugees, though by almost any measure Trump’s order was far more sweeping.

“To be clear, this is not a Muslim ban, as the media is falsely reporting,” Trump said in the statement.

https://qz.com/897616/rudy-giuliani-says-donald-trump-asked-how-to-make-a-muslim-ban-legal/

But comments yesterday by former New York City mayor and Trump advisor Rudy Giuliani during an interview on Fox News suggest that the ban, at its origin, was indeed aimed squarely at Muslims as a whole.

“Does the ban have anything to do with religion?,” Giuliani’s interviewer, Fox’s Jeanine Pirro, asks. “How did the president decide the seven countries?”

Giuliani appears to relish the opportunity to recount his role in helping Trump create the ban. “OK, I’ll tell you the whole history of it,” he tells Pirro. He goes on:

“So when he first announced it he said ‘Muslim ban.’”

Unbelievable.

Also unbelievable is that four more states have blocked federal authorities from enforcing the ban, and yet…

lawyers representing people covered by the order said some authorities were unwilling on Sunday to follow the judges’ rulings.

WTF?

it does seem like we are in a time where everyone is exercising some version of civil disobedience / being completely confused by what is official, and just doing what they think should be done.

the former is a good thing, but certainly can cause issues with day to day operations.
the later is also perhaps a good thing, but absolutely can cause issues with day to day operations.

can i still count on my fingers the number of days that Trump has been president? What the Royal F.

Since it’s not possible to put too fine a point on this…

The spectrums I wrote of were skewed to the econo-political more than socio/socio-political.

People think in terms of “freedom” v oppression without understanding human freedom.

Freedom from one’s own and another’s tyranny requires TOTAL ENSLAVEMENT to natural True Law. Freedom from True Law is TOTAL ENSLAVEMENT to the depravity of men, INCLUDING ones own evil/destructiveness.

This is the Libertarian error with regard to morality and personal conduct.

With this in mind, the Actual(vertical) and the two Ideological(horizontal) spectrums

THE HUMAN OPTIMUM (TOTAL ENSLAVEMENT TO TRUE LAW)

.

.

DEGREES OF PRIVATE OLIGARCHY–CONSERVATIVES–ECONO-FASCISM,SOCIALISM,COMMUNISM
////////////////////////////////////////// ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ vvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv
PRIVATE DEPRAVITY------------------CONSERVATIVES-----CULTURAL MARXISM SOCIAL DEPRAVITY

.WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
TOTAL TYRANNY (TOTAL ENSLAVEMENT TO RULE OF MEN INCLUDING ONE’S SELF)

Econo right-wing= private oligarchs control the politicians, leftwing= politicals control everything.

Private Oligarchy slants downward because it’s difficult for them to attain totalitarian conditions.
